I don't get pimples, but my skin is very oily. I really like Avon Magic FX primer or Smashbox Antishine primer.

I see a dermatologist who has me on two different topicals (they are super cheap with insurance) and I use St. Ives a few times a week and Clinique Cleanser. I also use the Clinique Moisturizer!
Differin Gel is the topical I use at night....and it's super for blackheads!
I use to work at a spa....and I can tell you the BEST skin care line EVER is dermalogica. After this post....I may order some....because I miss it....
Dermalogica is commonly used during basic facials. For oily skin, the Dermal Clay Cleanser is PHENOMENAL! And the moisturizer to go with is Activ Moist....they have toners and boosters...the toner is a spray on....the spray on toner is important because it acts like a shield to dirt and impurities trying to make their way into your pores. They have specialty boosters. If you feel you have very acne prone skin you'd buy the clarifying booster and add a drop to your nickle size droplet of moisturizer. I'd try the regimine without the booster initially....because sometimes less is more!!!
www.dermalogica.com or you can find it at most spas. It's a bit pricey....but nothing more then Clinique....it's worth a shot!! HTH!
I agree Dermalogica is the best. If you want to buy it cheaper go to www.whatgreatskin.com - they have it at half price. That is where I used to get it and it ships super fast .

I use proactiv and find that as I'm getting towards the end of that smaller white bottle (the cream) it stops working so I started shaking it with each use and it works much longer than it used to. I also use Neutrogena Deep Clean scrub and moisturizer. I had HORRIBLE skin for most of my life and this has worked wonders. It didn't work for me at first and then when I tried it again a second time, it worked like a charm.

So I went to the derma and told me to use Neutrogeana the blue foamy face wash and then gave me retin-a to put on at night. Hopefully it will work!

Re: Girls that get random pimples or oily skin...
I use Sensitive Skin formula Proactiv as a face wash and then I use skin creams my derm prescribed. I just started Benzaclin about 3 days ago. My face is pretty red (She said it will get like that for the first week or two...) but any acne I had completely disappeared in TWO DAYS! I even saw results overnight! I keep putting coverup on because I look like I got a sunburn right now but if the redness does actually go away this will be like a miracle cream for me!

Re: Girls that get random pimples or oily skin...
I have combo to dry skin, but I have heard great things from people with oily skin about this. I have to say, the best investment I have made for my skin lately is the very expensive Clarisonic skincare brush. It is so much $$ but I used to buy and toss so many products that would not work, so I think it will save me money down the road. Somehow having a wedding coming up seems to justify spending money on this . It really has made a major difference in my skin and other than that I started a regiment from Estee Lauder and it works very well.

You can't order dermalogica....you have to find a retailer....I'm gonna do that!
no, you can order it for cheaper at whatgreatskin.com ... and they are super fast and ship free after a certain amount.
Also, Oasis Day spas in the city sell them too and they carry pretty much the entire line

Wow really? Is it expensive? Is it bleaching your towels?

Re: UPDATE -Girls that get random pimples or oily skin...
It was like 22 bucks for the set on drugstore.com I find that a very small amount goes a lot further than proactiv... PLUS no bleaching the towels. I had that same problem I think it will last a lot longer than proactiv did... I always seemed to have no more face scrub left...and tons of astringint and repair lotion at the end of each month. I hated that. With this stuff you arent on an instant refill program...so you just order it as you need it.... plus i actually use all the steps twice a day...which i never did with proactiv.

Re: UPDATE -Girls that get random pimples or oily skin...
Morning: Proativ Extra Strength Formula (you have to call to order) - wash - toner -repairing lotion -followed by proactiv oil free moisturizer
Night: Same or Coalface soap by LUSH followed by Retin-A micro.
* You can not use benzyol peroxide based products with Retin-A micro b/c it'll deactive the Retin-A.
My skin looks amazing when I'm consistent but most nights I pass out
