Update - I made an appointment with the eye doctor for April 30! I can do this!!! - Okay, I booked all my vendors, now I have to do something that I have been avoiding....

I have to make an appointment to see an eye doctor and get contacts. I have posted before about this topic, touching my eyes makes nauseas (spelling).

I tried contacts about 10 years ago and ended up in the e-room. I couldn't get the stupid things out of my eyes.

I need some support. I can overcome this! Right????

you can do it... years ago my sister tried them and couldnt get it out of her eye at the place, so she decided to stick with glasses... a couple years later she tried it again and had no problem...just think of how great they will look

Im wearing mine right now.. I got them about a month ago. It took me FIVE sittings to finally get them in and out on my own. It is soooo worth it. I dont have to wear my glasses with my wedding dress.

Yes I believe in you!!!! I have worn contacts for 10 years now and at first it was very wierd but now its like second nature to me. If you are only going to wear them for the wedding, maybe have someone else put them in for you? Good luck and you will be fine!

You can absolutely overcome it. You'll get used to it before you know it

I have been wearing glasses for most of my life. Only recently did I find myself blind without them, and relying on them everyday. Although the thought of sticking my fingers in my eye grossed me out...I took the leap and got contacts!! Well, believe or not I was able to put them in the first day with no problem!! Got home...and I could not do it!! With practice I was able to do it, and now I cannot believe it took me so long to finally get them! P.S. If you decide that you want them, have your eye doctor write you a prescription and order them through 1-800-contacts. I got them for nearly half the price they would have cost me if i would have got them through my doc!! Good luck!

I used to wear mine all the time and now I cant because my eyes have changed over the years. I was able to get them for the wedding and had no problem. get the daily wear so you can wear a few pair and then toss them. Youll feel more comfortable knowing you have a box of them to try out till you get used to it! you wont have to worry about cleaning and they are very light and thin. do you have nails? its much harder with nails until you get used to them. YOU CAN DO IT, just have patience with yourself!!

In my opinion, contacts are the best invention ever (along with tampons! - remember how skeevy that was at first?) Seriously, when I first got them, it took me like 2 and a half hours to put them in and then take them out at the Dr.'s office! I was sooo frustrated and thought I wasn't cut out for them. I thought for sure I would never like them or be able to use them, BUT after a couple of weeks, it got easier and easier. Now I can put them in and take them out in a couple of seconds! Bottom line: It WILL be frustrating at first - BUT DON'T GIVE UP!!! You will be so happy you made the switch - especially on your wedding day!!!

If you have not found a doctor yet, i highly recommend dr. berliner at the walt whitmall lenscrafters. i am very snesitive and have very dry eyes. he has been so hlepful. he has to put a plug in my tear duct so that i produce more lubrication in my eyes. i usually freak out when some one comes near my eyes, but i felt very comfortable with him.

Though at first it took me about an hour to get them in, now it is second nature! You will get used to it in no time! I have a great eye doctor if you want a recommendation! Congrats!

Sweetie, if I could do it, you can too. Your doctor will work with you & once you try it a few times you'll be fine. Also, consider disposible lenses. I wear mine once & throw them out. No worrying about cleaning them & they're always fresh.
