UPDATE my crush

a few weeks ago I posted a question getting some advice ..I wrote..

'i work with the coast guard and months ago an applicant came in who i was highly attracted to. he stood out in my mind b/c he was the perfect package of a sweet, charming, shy, down to earth kinda guy.. but i never persued anything b/c i was obviously in a very serious relationship and i would never do that when i was in love with my ex. i think this guy knew i had a crush on him b/c i was always blushing when ever he was around!! now obviously i m single now so im free to talk to whoever i want and that applicant was recently shipped to a boat. at the coast guard we have a database with every1's addresses so they can get mail from pple who wanna send letters to pple in the military. would it b really stupid if out of the blue i sent him a letter to say hello and see how he is doing.. i mean the worst that happens is he doesnt respond or he think im nuts..'

UPDATED: so I wrote to him and he wrote back! He sounded happy to hear from me and wants to continue to keep in touch, Who knows what will happen, Im still trying to keep the correspondence lite and see what happens from there :)

hehehe as soon as i get his next note i will hafta throw it in some way, u know ill b looking for advice..i feel like all of u r my therapy! LOL

p.s. in this first note he asked what i have been doing, i mentioned re-decorating my 2 bedroom apartment, and im not used to all the empty space lol..hoping he will ask why i have a 2 bedroom or something related so i can eventually throw in the break up lol...

from a male point of view, i'd avoid mentioning the break up because:

a) he may view the situation as the 'rebound' relationship and run for the hills -- or if he's a sleaze at heart, he may see this as an 'easy' opportunity

b) if he knows the wound is fresh, he may fear getting too attached because since you've been broken up for a short time, there may be a chance you can get back together and no one wants to be the 'commercial' in the middle of the 'Feature Presentation'

all you have to do is not say the words 'my boyfriend' and he'll get the idea.

Woo Hoo! You go for what you want! He wouldn't have written back if he didn't see some sort of possibility. I think in the near future you can work in your break up in such a way that he doesn't realize you are telling him...i'm sure us ladies can try to help if you want wording help!
