Update on Angel
Well, the vet called my house earlier this afternoon, pretty much right after I got finished saying no news yet.
They couldn't find anything REALLY wrong per se. It wasn't diabetes or leukemia or AIDS or anything else like that. The idea that it could have been feline flu via inadvertant human contact was remote as well.
BUT his red blood cell count was considered low, and his bilirubin count was high. I guess the red blood cell count is aenemia, but bilirubin?
After some brief research, we found out that that's a function of the liver, and in humans, that a cause for high counts are stones or a blockage in the liver (i.e. tumor). He does eat dry food, which causes stones in cats, so my parents are going to switch him to moist food and see what happens.
What really pisses me off though is that after the vet took our money and told us the results and my father asked what that meant and what was wrong, his answer was 'Something is wrong, but I'm not going to make a conjecture as to what, that's not our policy'. He just washed his hands of the situation, and told us to bring him to the hospital so he can get a constant IV drip and be put in for observation. My dad basically told him to go scratch. If we let them get their hands on him like that, I swear they'll kill him.
I don't know what to do, I started crying at work, I had to leave a meeting to cower in the bathroom, and I feel like my bilirubin levels are going through the roof too.
Please continue to pray for my baby![]()
