******UPDATE***** On hair straightening thanks girls for all your help
*****UPDATE********** I got the chemical straightening done and it took but there are a few pieces that are still wavy can I go to have the Japanese straightening done or do I have to wait now a little while? I am sorry I didn't listen about doing the Japanese straightening instead of the chemical straightening the stylist said this would be better for my hair and he said my hair would be healthier. Now what do I do? I feel like an idiot cause I went in wanted the Japanese and he said your hair is a little wavy and you just need the chemical straightening you do not need the Japanese straightening. So I listened and thought OK it would be better for my hair and it wasn't. I am sorry girls for not listening to you's.

youre gonna have to wait now, you cant do one right after the other. Honestly i thought when you were asking for advice you kinda rushed into this. THe day you started asking about this you were saying you wanted to do it that same night although you didnt know which was safer or what would be better for your hair. Youre probably gonna have to wait a few months now to get the japanese straightner but in the meantime i recommend doing research about good places to use and if its the right thing for you.

and PLEASE dont run soon to go get the JHS...You will fry your hair...i was stupid once and dyed my hair one color and didnt like it then soon after i dyed it again, my hair was fried after that, it was bad and took a while for my hair to look somewhat decent again.

I guess I didn't read it right. I thought you were happy with the regular straightener. and like Espo said...please wait to get it done. your hair can break and become more brittle. maybe two weeks minimum.

I should wait even though with chemical straightening they do not use a flat iron. They use the same chemicals that are in a perm they just don't use the rods that is what the chemical straightening was. So I should wait? I am really disappointed how it came out.

i would definitely wait. even though it was chemicals and not with irons, chemicals still equal damage.. you won't want more damage on top of damage.. it will make it worse. I would wait at least 6 months and then go for a consult. I FM'd you my salon info.

i agree, just doing it once is alot on your hair and all these things we do dying it and then using chemicals that are stronger can really damage it in the long run. I would talk to a hair dresser who has been doing the straightener for years now and has alot of experience with it and someone that comes highly recommended...they would be able to tell you better how long to wait until you do it again... I used to have thicker hair and now its so limp and stringy bc of all the stuff ive had done

I have very very thick hair. I haven't died it in a long time a year or more. And when I did dye it I died it once or twice a year. My hair is very strong still after I got that stupid chemical straightening done. I do not know any really good salons in Suffolk county. I do not want to drive to the city cause I do not know my way around the city. I am willing to go to Nassau though if it is a very good salon.

i heard Lumara in nassau county is good.
Well if your hair is healthy then dont mess it up by damaging it now, trust me that if you do two chemical treatments one right after another that will happen...The time i mentioned earlier where i died it one color and then died it another color right after was YEARS ago and i hadnt really dyed my hair or did anything to it, it was still healthy and i ended up having to finally cut most of it off bc it was so damaged. I mean just doing a straightener this one time its VERY strong for your hair so doing it right after your hair wont be able to handle it. Please listen this time to the advice everyone is giving you, everyone told you the other day that the regular chemical straightener wont make your hair pin straight, it will be kind of wavy.

i think you should wait as well. I once did japanese straightening over dyed hair and it fried my hair and i have thick coarse strong hair. i get my straightening about once a year. if you go to a reputable salon, i doubt they would even do two chemical treatments in a row so you might not have a choice but to wait a while, unfortunately. what is it that you dont like about it? is it just that theres some wavy parts? cuz i have gotten my hair done every year for the past 5 years and not every strand is stick straight.

very true if its a stylist who doesnt want to ruin their reputation and also is reputable then they wont even do it now

HI...i have wavy hair w/ a frizzy texture and I get mine Japanese Straightened at a Japanese salon in NYC. It is called SEI Tomoko. I go to Sei, he owner. He is great they do an awesome job. My hair is healthy and i Have been doing it for 3 years. ( I go 1x a year). It caps out at $330 (and I have kinda long hair). I would go to your normal hairdresser to find out how long in between the chemical process and the Japanese. I highly recommend them. SEITomoko.com I never go anywhere else and have sent other people there w/ great results. good luck. PS, you can still get up does that even hold a bit of curl w/ him.....
