Update on Me and Lyla (with pictures)
Hi everyone,
I haven't been able to post much recently. Lyla is a 'sleep fighter' and she is chronically overtired at this point I think. She's fussy, clingy and cries a lot, which of course makes me cry too and stresses her Daddy out b/c he can't do anything.
She only falls asleep in my arms, once in a while in the swing, but usually in my arms or laying next to me while nursing. Then, when I put her down, she wakes up immediately and cries. So, I start the cycle over again of getting her to sleep and then trying to put her down. She doesn't just fuss, she gets pretty hysterical. She only takes short naps during teh day, usually no more than 30 minutes, but usually more like 5-10 minutes and then is still tired.
Anyway, I'm trying to change that with the help of The Baby Whisperer and No-Cry Sleep Solution.
She's 2 months today, and as of Saturday, she's 10 pounds (was 6 at birth), so she's doing great. She definitely knows her mommy and smiles and coos at me a lot. She's SO sweet when she does that!
I went in to tell my boss that I'm not coming back and he wasn't totally surprised, was very understanding, and told me that they value my work and that he will do what he can for me to work PT. I don't know the details of what they can offer, but in the meantime I will extend my unpaid leave and find out about daycare and if it's worth it financially.
Just want to let you know that I'm still here and also reading your posts!
I was trying to take pics when she was smiling!
