Update on my cat... not so great news...

My cat is anemic--which the vet said COULD possibly be a sign of feline leukemia or AIDs. If it's leukemia, that means that ALL of my babies could possibly have it, and they would all have to get tested.

Financially, I dont' know how I could do this, but more so emotionally I am freaking out. I'll have the test results tomorrow. Please pray that he is just anemic (or the doc said it would be better if he had AIDs b/c that is very hard to transmit). I'd obviously rather he just be anemic though.

Aww, I'm sorry. I hope it's just anemia. How long have you had this cat? The signs of feline leukemia start pretty quickly, which is why I'm asking. My boss got a kitten recently and found out that he's feline leukemia positive. She has another cat at home and has been getting treatment for the kitten, but the other cat is okay. Hasn't transmitted to her, and she's been taking advice and precautions from her vet to keep it that way. It's possible, just a bit more work...but so worth it.

My boss got a kitten recently and found out that he's feline leukemia positive. She has another cat at home and has been getting treatment for the kitten, but the other cat is okay. Hasn't transmitted to her, and she's been taking advice and precautions from her vet to keep it that way. It's possible, just a bit more work...but so worth it.

I've had him for 2 years, but the vet said he is def over 10-- so I'm trying to tell myself that that is at least some sort of evidence that it isn't leukemia, because he's never been sick before.

I'm so sorry. For what it's worth, one of ours has been living with aids for 5 years now. The medicine really helps, he's 13 years old!

Stay positive. He probably would have shown signs of this earlier.
