Update on my Kitty (w/ Pix!)
This weekend I posted about my poor kitty Gus that ended up spending 3 days in the ICU at the Pet ER after eating part of a lily (just the pollen!) He spent 3 days on IV fluids and meds and came home to us Monday ![]()
Our other kitty Lily (yes, ironic I know lol) now wants nothing to do with him. They were BFF's- always cleaning each other and cuddling- but I guess he smells funny from being there for so long. It will get better, but he is so sad that she won't snuggle with him![]()
Also, the bill for the ER was ridiculous ($1600) and we have been so stressed this week since our next RH payment is due soon, plus we are waaaay over budget for the wedding (and paying for it ourselves)....but FH's dad felt bad because FH felt guilty about 'causing' Gus to get sick (he bought me the bouquet of flowers that Gus ate from, because he had to work a weekend day and I spent the day home cleaning by myself) so he sent us a check for 1/3 of the vet bill!!!!!
Here are some pix of my baby Gus now that he is home!!!! They had to shave Gus's paws, back leg and his neck because of all of the IV's he was getting and blood draws, etc. He looks so silly!!!
Lily had a follow-up vet appt today (she had gum surgery a few months ago b/c she has a recurrent infection) and they said her mouth looks great! 3 more months of antibiotics, but we can handle that. And there was a new bump on her belly, but they did a biopsy and it is just a lipoma (fatty tumor) which is totally benign. Yay for healthy kitties!!! Now if they will just remember to be friends again!!!!
