Update on my sore throat...Ehh

Well I went to the doctor and he says it looks like strep but I won't know for sure until tomorrow afternoon. He said even if the test comes back negative I definitely have some kind of bacterial infection since tonsils are so swollow and have white spots....so her I am 1 and 1/2 months later on amoxicillian again. This makes me so nervous....I hated that I hate to be on antibiotics last time....now her I am againn another time. I hope evrything will be ok.

Also, is it safe to take acidofilious since I am on antibiotics? i don't want a yeast infection next!

Now I'm also wondering if I can still take the AFP test next week or if this will screw up the results.

I just finished my amoxicillin. It is totally safe to take while pregnant. Also, DEFINITELY start the acidophilis and also eat a yoguet or 2 per day, you don't want those yeasty beasties to come around. I took 2-3 per day.

I'm not sure about the AFP, I would think it would be fine since the genetic disposition is already formed, the antbioticsw should not affect it.

Do you remember what the dose was on your amoxicillian....the first time i had strep they gace me a really low dose...this time it seems to be much higher.

I think you can take the acidopholius while on antibiotics.

Have they considered tonsilitis??? I was VERY Sick with a raw sore throat, NO strep...but I couldn't swallow ANYTHING and I had MAJOR white spots. Turned out to be tonsilitis and I opted to have them taken out at 24 years old (NOT fun)

My doctor had actualyl said to me 'it's not strep, so there's nothing I can do for you. You'll have to ride out the virus....' while I sat there with a 103 fever and couldn't swallow my own saliva!!!

Well it's definitely strep....they just called with the results. I swear I am wearing one of those surgical masks to work for the rest of my pregnancy. Those germy kids keep getting me sick!
