update on Reality Show at my summer house!

As you all know, my friends and I were kicked out of our summer rental and we will be allowed back in after July 4th. We were kicked out b/c the house is being used to tape a Reality Show about Fire Island and summer shares. In the meantime, our landlord is putting us up someplace else (read, someplace gross). I have not been spending much time out there recently, but I get the update from my friends every week. Some people from my house have befriended the production crew. The production crew thinks it’s humorous that they have met the people who were displaced because of their show. They have been keeping my friends updated, and the production is going on schedule. This means that we should get the house back in the 2nd week of July, as planned!!! That is what the landlord promised, but I feel better having it confirmed. Some people from my house have started to hang out with the reality show people and some of my housemates have been filmed. Some of them refuse to be filmed, though. They have to sign releases, or their footage won’t be used. An acquaintance of ours throws a lot of parties and last week, the reality show people and my housemates attended his party and it was all filmed. I heard that some crazy things happened that night! It’s all fun but it would have been more fun just to be in our house.

The reality show house is the place where I got engaged! It is an amazing house, but next summer we plan to rent a house from a different owner b/c of how this was handled. So, we have June and July to enjoy the place!!

I still want to have an LIW GTG out there, too!! Can’t wait for July and August!

I am trying so hard to keep a positive outlook about this. It is certainly entertaining and fun and it is one of those weird things that sometimes happens in life!

But, I still would have preferred just to rent the house and enjoy it all summer w/ out this!

Well, I think I could write a book about my summers out there already! I do hope to have time to make scrapbook pages about this summer (photos of house before the production crew got to it, photos after, photos of the houses we had to stay in while our house was occupied, funny comments that we heard about this, copies of newspaper articles about the show, etc).

got a little more info--my friends love the guys from the production crew, but the people on the show are not as cool as the people behind the scenes.

Why am I not surprised to hear that the crew is cooler than the cast?

I am sure yu will get the house back before you know it. It is kinda mean that the landlord displaced you. Even if he set you up at the nicest place ever it doesn't hold the same memories as yours does.
