Update/pity party

The hall is making us pay for the 150 , when we only have 115.. Argh, I'm so pissed they better change there minds by friday when I have to make final payment

Part of their argument is that we are having the big room well ya know what 115 in the room looks silly so we will end up in the little room. And Also, my question is if we go with OT does that mean, I gotta pay it for the 40 something imaginary guests as well! It just ***** b/c there arguements are very unvalid, they also said we are paying there summer rate for a sept wedding... I dunno, but I always figured a friday in july would cost pretty much the same as a friday in sept. July is pretty popular.

Plus, it was only booked 2 weeks ago, so it wasen't like they were going to get any thing else for the 27th of this month!!

Also, since we saved 2 dollars per person b/c they gave us a break b/c my fiance is military is also part of their arguement for it.

It's just real upsetting b/c they know our lack of guests is because of the Wartime situation we are at, and because of the higher alerts on bases this sept.. they have constantly said they just wanted to see me happy well this isn't making me happy.

Also, on our contract it has about the guarantee being 150 but there is a part that says final guarantee and that is blank.. so, I don't see why we are getting so screwed..

Anyone a business lawyer and wanna help, also I don't wanna piss em off that much since it is in 9 days.

But I get free centerpieces now heck that amount of money they are saving with 3-4 none existant tables I am paying for should cover nice arrangements... and I wanted to add a vientese table but it is a per person charge and I'm not paying it for the imaginary people.. argh...

That does stink!!! Maybe you can meet them in the middle on the number?? Pay for 130 instead of 150?? They might consider that 'reasonable'. Also, try to get some things thrown in...anything!!

Hang in there, maybe they'll bend a little. Sorry you have to deal w/ this so close to your big day.

The hall is going to win this fight. BUT that doesn't mean you cannot discuss this further with them.
Tell them that you understand their position BUT due to the status of many of your friends (being on high alert due to national security) you are now in the position of having to pay for 40 non-attending guests. Can they upgrade you on any items such as dessert or cordial bar? Also, you should arrange to donate the 40 'extra' meals to a local shelter. Call around to some of the shelters and ask them if they can arrange to pick up the meals. You can also try Meals on Wheels- they might be able to use the food. Why waste it? And you might be able to make it a tax-deducatbly charity donation also!
Most halls will work with you on this. If not, just go along with what you have to do, don't tip them, and post ALL about it when you get home from your honeymoon.

its a tough situation but don't tip them? it might not be the waiters or maitre d's fault. they shouldn't suffer for the halls policy.

The arrangement is 140 now, and part of the problem is that I only have 690.30 left if it is at 140. So, basically they just wanted to get a bit more money but it would have been a little more then double for the 150. So, I will deal they in general have been very good to me and promise they still will be. I have to go in on friday and we are going to play with the room a bit and see if we can put a partition in the room I fell in love with b/c now it is just too big. Seriously they have been amazing compared to other halls, it just was a kick in the teeth to pay for the 150. So, in all honestly only paying 140 makes me feel alot better. I didn't know my mother had given them a payment and that they had as much money as they did.
I will still tip them well for service, was in the resturant business and I know the service fee I pay really doesn't go to the workers.

We will just have to pick up some strangers on the street and invite them to the reception.. lol

Long story short after the affair I will show you pictures of us and how beautiful it turned out and the amazing price we paid.. And all will be good!

can they count your dj/band //photographer in that amount..that really stinks! you will have a beautiful day anyway---i like the idea of meals on wheels--or something like that------good luck

Just wish a few more people could have made it, but we can't complain!
