Update posted:When do you usually notice a decrease .........

.......in movement with the baby?
I am almost 28 weeks and have noticed that my baby who used to be very active is hardly active at all. I only feel the baby move a little before I go to sleep and once a day in the afternoon. Is that typical at this stage in pregnancy or do I just have a very calm baby?
The baby used to move so much more.

**Yesterday baby was extremely active all day.**

I thought they say that the baby should be more active now. Mine seems to have calmed down a lot.

Every baby is different, Sue. Try not to worry so much....and, if you are really concerned, then just be sure to mention it to your OB during your next visit. I am sure everything is just fine!

I don't even get nearly as much movement as I thought I would at this point (almost 24 weeks) :( so I guess everyone's different.

Same here. I think I feel the baby move only when I have a full bladder. I am 22/23 weeks.

Thanks ladies. I do feel the baby but the movements used to be a lot and now its hardly much at all. I guess there isn't much room to move around in there but I thought it was still early yet. I think the baby is only like 2 pounds right now.
Whenever I am concerned, I poke at my belly and get the baby kicking.

To the girls before 24 weeks, I think you will notice more movement in the next few weeks. I do not think it supposed to slow down alot until the 9th month when things are very cramped in there. Sue, your baby is probably just adjusting its sleep schedule. I am sure it is fine.

I had unpredictable spurts of activity also. But as I got closer to the 30 week mark ... she got tremendously active ... with so much room to move around, she was hardly asleep! Later on, she slowed down, but then the hiccups took over ... I was distracted by them all the time!

Here's a tip ... try drinking a glass of juice & then laying down on your side. You may find an increase in the level of activity.

The baby was not very active for the past couple of weeks. Then yesterday we went to a friend's house and they were playing music and everyone was talking, and the baby was moving all day!

Yay! Glad to hear mommys feeling more comfortable with babys movements!! As with everything, if you feel uncomfortable, I suggest calling the Dr. Better to be safe than to be sorry! I had a 10pounder and I remember he didnt move that much about 24 weeks.. I went to the Dr. and nothing to be alarmed about!! Glad to hear youre more relaxed!!

The Bear Cub wasn't that active early on either, but towards the end, OMG!!! She also had the hiccups non-stop (still does ). Don't worry, I'm sure everything is fine!!!
