** UPDATE ** Stressed....need to vent (sorry, a little long)

Hi Ladies,

I hate to do this but I need to vent....

I've been super stressed lately trying to get things done before FH moves upstate (he got a new job and is moving upstate 7/9 and I'll be down here till the wedding in Oct)

We had one of our final meetings with our RH on Friday. I can't even tell you how bad I wanted to strangle our BM! First she starts laying on all the 'upgrades' we can do (hello?! why didn't we know this when we booked??) then she tells me that they are no longer doing the cakes themselves but they're having someone else do them. Ok fine, no big deal, right? WRONG! I wanted a tiered square cake. Nothing too crazy. She tells me that they don't do tiered cakes b/c they're 'passe' WHAT?! and they don't do square.

Now I'm pissed off....she tells me that I'm the first one ever to ask for a square cake with whipped cream. Are you kidding me??? After going back and forth a few times she finally told me they'd have my cake.

With all of this stress going on my nerves are shot and it's starting to effect my health. I've been having palpitations and have been going to the Doctor. I have to make a cardiologist appointment for this week b/c the results from the monitor they had me wear were a little off.

I need a vacation!!

**UPDATE**
FH called and spoke to the catering manager and told him the issues we are having with our BM. He set up a meeting for us and we met with him yesterday. What a nice guy! Now this is what it should have been like in the beginning! Easygoing, friendly and super helpful. Everything is straightened out and now we'll be dealing with him from now on.

(and I went to the Doc and after a bunch of tests everything is fine. It's a combo of stress and needing to lose a little weight -- story of my life!)

What a relief!

What do they mean they don't do tiered cakes? Do you want them on the dowells or stacked?
I'm a CHCC bride, too. I was under the impression that they never did their own cakes. FH is a vendor for them (not wedding related) and told me that when we first booked. Did she say who they use?

I didn't want stacked...it was tied with flowers in between.....not anything all that difficult.....

when we booked they said they didn their own cakes....now we get a differect story. she wouldn't tell me who they use...

here's a pic....I understand if they can't get that texture.....but everythig else is pretty straight forward....

damn.. i guess my wedding is going to be very 'passe'...

seriously i can't beleive she said that to you! please try not to stress - and don't forget to ask for help if you need it!!!

That's a gorgeous cake and by no means passe.
I'm glad you're able to get the cake you want after all that, but I can't believe they won't tell you who they use. That's shady!!!

I don't know why these people, who are supposed to make your life easier, stress you out!!!!! That cake is beautiful and not passe at all. I'm happy that she finally said you can have your cake as you want it!

It will all get better!!!!!

i can go there and 'practice' some taekwondo on her if you'd like! What the heck?? Is there anyone else you can speak with instead of 'Miss Congeniality??'...sorry you are so stressed!!!! Here's some hugs for ya!!!

I was like, ok, so i dont get an option of what type of cake i want? Its this one or nothing? Basically, she told me either use the round stacked cake they provide or i can buy my own cake from a bakery So i was kinda pissed as u are, but dont wanna spend extra dough on a cake when this one is included but i really wanted a stacked, SQUARE cake, not round. grrrr!!!!

They don't even have an upgraded cake now? When I first booked she said if I didn't like the cake(s) (I guess it was plural at that time) that I could pay to upgrade. I think it was like $200...not bad considering what it would cost from an outside baker. UGH..I really want a chocolate cake and it doesn't sound like I'm going to get it from them. Every other RH we looked at, let you pick/design your own cake!

Yes, they told us about the 'upgrades' The only one we are doing though is the wine on the table. They charge an extra $2 per person to have bottles on the table. My family are big wine drinkers so we had to do it. Who is your BM by the way? Mine is Janet.
