UPDATE Stressed....need to vent (sorry, a little long)

Hi Ladies,

I hate to do this but I need to vent....

I've been super stressed lately trying to get things done before FH moves upstate (he got a new job and is moving upstate 7/9 and I'll be down here till the wedding in Oct)

We had one of our final meetings with our RH on Friday. I can't even tell you how bad I wanted to strangle our BM! First she starts laying on all the 'upgrades' we can do (hello?! why didn't we know this when we booked??) then she tells me that they are no longer doing the cakes themselves but they're having someone else do them. Ok fine, no big deal, right? WRONG! I wanted a tiered square cake. Nothing too crazy. She tells me that they don't do tiered cakes b/c they're 'passe' WHAT?! and they don't do square.

Now I'm pissed off....she tells me that I'm the first one ever to ask for a square cake with whipped cream. Are you kidding me??? After going back and forth a few times she finally told me they'd have my cake.

With all of this stress going on my nerves are shot and it's starting to effect my health. I've been having palpitations and have been going to the Doctor. I have to make a cardiologist appointment for this week b/c the results from the monitor they had me wear were a little off.

I need a vacation!!

**UPDATE**
FH called and spoke to the catering manager and told him the issues we are having with our BM. He set up a meeting for us and we met with him yesterday. What a nice guy! Now this is what it should have been like in the beginning! Easygoing, friendly and super helpful. Everything is straightened out and now we'll be dealing with him from now on.

(and I went to the Doc and after a bunch of tests everything is fine. It's a combo of stress and needing to lose a little weight -- story of my life!)

What a relief!

Are we only allowed to have a round cake then. So they dont do square? We do pick what flavor is going to be right? I so confused!!!

you get to pick from choc or yellow cake and the filling....

do u know what type of filling you can choose? Do they design the cake the way u want it or is it a standard design!

it's a standard cake. they have a bunch of fillings you can chose from (you only get 1)

Thats crazy! lol I am going to have me some Passe Cakes as well. Oh well! lol I am very sorry about your health. I know how stress can be bad for you. I get anxiety attacks so every now and then I try to meditate or tell myself that I am going to be ok and that I have a man that loves me.

I am sure it will all work out for you

Oh good! I'm sooo glad to hear it's working out and you like the new BM. I'll keep that mind when I start my menu planning

And I'm glad to hear that your palpitations weren't too serious. It's amazing what stress does to our bodies, right?

omg I'm glad everything worked out ok! Sometimes I wonder if people just think its fun to cause brides even more stress than they are already dealing with

I am glad to hear that everything is ok. I am going to FM you because I am getting married there a week before you and I don't need any added stress. I have heard somethings from other brides about their Top shelf Liquor. Have you had any problems w/them with that?

I'm getting married there, too. What have you heard? I just know that you have to pay to upgrade liquor. When FH heard their basic list he said he wants to do that. I think it should be included...like some other halls...but then again, I think that's why there basic price is more affordable then other places. Then they get you with the extras.

Not sure what it is to upgrade. I want to say $5pp but I'm not sure.

We didn't want to upgrade to top shelf but we didn't realize that the bar only included Bud and Coors. (all in all not a big deal...just wasn't mentioned when we were booking)
