*update* Videographer needed under $1000

I saw a videographer with my friend yesterday. He was AWFUL and my friend is going to use him anyway because he's 'cheap'. I thought I was bad when it came to $$ but i'd rather not have anything at all than to have somone below par.

Can anyone recommend anyone???

FH just tells me what he thinks I want to hear...originally when I said I didn't want a video he was like neither do I. I asked him again last night and he was like 'well it would be nice.'

UPDATE:

OK so hear's the story so far. FH is being too particular.

FH doesn't want to meet with Halo since they're in Queens. We live out east and they said we had to come to them.

We recieved a packet from Rambling Rose with a DVD and pricing information. FH says he's not sure he'd want to use them because they don't have anything on the video of a Jewish wedding.

So far I think i like Forever Video a little more though i'm still concerned about not being able to meet with them personally.

FH also insisted on making an appointment with Videotek next week since they are recommended by the RH . So far no one seems to have heard of them and I have no clue what their prices are like.

Any more suggestions?

You can check out JOART in Sayville....Gil is so nice and resonable...sure he'll work with your budget!

I think i'm going to check out Rambing Rose, Halo and Forever Video (though I'm a little nervous about using somone not in the area).

I really like the videos I saw online for FV so I dunno. I figure 3 places is enough?!?!


One thing I would definitely recommend is to go to Rambling Rose’s website and request they mail you a package. I just got mine yesterday and it had a great DVD that really showed his work.

Edit: OK i saw exactly what you were talking about and signed to get my kit. The only thing that confuses me about them is that on here their link says starting at $499 and then you go to the page and its $999

Yeah, I just noticed that too. I think maybe the 499 is for the very basic unedited footage? They had other summer deal packages listed on the info I got yesterday, but I’m planning on quizzing him on all that as soon as I make the appointment.

I’m trying to figure out if I should wait until FH is in town or just do it like everything else and take care of it myself, lol. But I’ll let you know!

I used Rambling Rose. Nick was SO GREAT. I haven't gotten my video yet but just to explain, you can 'build' your package. This is what I did
