UPDATE! WE GOT 'EM! Oct/Nov Brides- do you have your BM dresses?
I've picked out the BM dress I like best and nobody is in a rush to actually go and try it on or purchase it. Some are telling me it's much too early, yet FMIL is freaking out on me that we don't have them yet.
I know Carol on here got her's and her wedding is like two weeks before mine, anyone else?

I just got mine yesterday from Bridal Reflections..they want my girls to get measured by April, but she told me that the last possible time they could order them in time would be June...my wedding is November 29th..so you have time!

I just went yesterday with a few girls, we found the one and they ordered theirs. I still have 4 other girls who need to get them ordered. The bridal salon said that now its getting to be peak season for dresses, so the earlier the better. Mine are taking about 4-5 months to come in.

See we're just going to David's Bridal. I need to call them, I'm not sure if they actually order dresses, it looks like whatevers on the wracks or something.

I got married in Oct and ordered them on Feb. They came in in late Sept.
I would tell them to get a move on!!!! That was the worst part of it all, depending on others.

i went in the beginning of January for my Oct 18th wedding. do it when you want. its never too soon for anything.

I know, don't laugh, the other day I was thinking about just not even bothering with a full bridal party, I'm an older bride, I could totally get away with just a MOH and BM. FH said no way.

My sisters (co-MOH) and I went to David's and ordered their dresses at the beginning of Feb b/c I was able to get them a $20 discount that was going to expire soon. I have 2 bridesmaids who I'm trying to get to go look at dresses, but one I haven't even been able to get in touch with by phone to even ask her to be a BM (friends since I'm 5 yrs old!!), and the other is a last-minute kinda girl (friend from work). I already gave her the DB BM dress catalog, told her the color I chose and the discount, but she said she'd go on her own to get her dress, prob waiting to the last minute. She knows herself too well!
My sisters' dresses were already ordered and are slated to come into the store in the middle of March. I don't think it's too early, considering they were worried that style would be discontinued, and they both fell in love w/ the same dress.
I'm all for doing things early so I'm not going nuts and running out of time. I want to have everything big planned out so the few wks leading up to the wedding, I'm not stressing too much. It'll be report-card time, and I'm going to be going crazy getting those ready, so any wedding planning that I can get done now while I have a clear head and plenty of time, I'll do!!!!

See it's rough because 2 girls are out there on LI and 2 are here in NJ. Everyone is too busy to get together on a Saturday and go. I think the 2 LI girls are going today and I may try to go with the NJ girls out here to the Wayne store today.

David's does order BM dresses. You can buy off the rack, but we ordered them so we're getting new dresses.
I can't vouch for other DB locations, but the one on Northern Blvd in Queens did a wonderful job ordering my BM dress for my sister's wedding in 2004. From August 03 when I ordered the dress to the Feb 04 fitting, I had lost a lot of weight due to illness, and they couldn't take in my dress 5 sizes. So they called a bunch of their stores on the eastern seaboard and had a new much-smaller dress in the correct size flown in from Washington DC. It needed to be hemmed and the sleeves snipped a little to be comfortable on my big arms! But DB did a wonderful job for me that way!!

i seem to be the exception because most places get them in faster..but i ordered my girls dresses back in may and i was told they would be in in sept and they didnt get them in till the first week in january. so i would do it to be safe..its better to check it off your list

i'm a month before you and we ordered them about a month and a half ago. The ONLY reason is that they are by Alfred Angelo and they have been around for a while and i didnt want them to get discontinued.

i ordered mine last year, they went in september and some of them didnt pick up their dresses until last month, put ur foot down, because my dresses came in and had to be send back 3 times, my moh gown we ordered last june and she didnt finally get it until november.....so make them go and order it now, its ur wedding now theirs and u need to take into consideration if anything comes back wwrong its another month at least b4 u get the next one that could have the same problem!!!!!!!
