UPDATE w/review ! Surprise E-Party
So, I found out that friends (through FH's office)are throwing us a surprise E-Party this weekend!
We thought we were just getting taken to lunch but through a few different ways we found out its an actual party!
Here are the questions-
what do I wear? Its a lunch on a Saturday. Do nice jeans/heels/top work or do I need like black pants? Lunch is a hard one.
Do I need to quickly get on line and register? I haven't registered for anything.
I have no idea how many people are going, who is coming, etc. It is so nice of this couple to do this but it totally stresses me out to not be in control!

UPDATE!
Ladies!
Thanks so much for your advice last week from when I found out FH's boss was throwing us a surprise engagement party.
It was great, I don't have pictures but I'll post some when I get them from guests.
Outfit: I went with jeans/heels/cute top and it was perfect.
Registry: I didn't register and that worked out fine, you'll see below.
It was such a nice afternoon, about 40 people showed up, including my dad and stepmom who drove from NYC to DC! That was the best surprise of it all.
When I had gotten an inkling that our dinner with FH's boss was turning into more of a party I just sent the message loud and clear that I didn't want gifts. (Alot of this group that is invited won't be to the wedding!)
But they did something so nice, they had a small collection from guests and we now have a healthy sum of Amex travelers checks to spend on our honeymoon!
Man it was a great day but by 9pm (party was a lunch from 12-3 then we had everyone back to our place) FH and I were beat. We kept laughing saying how if this was our wedding day we would only be on dinner at this point!
It was a great taste of what it is going to be like on your wedding day surrounded by people you love and who truly care for you!
Now, onto thank you card writing!!!
