Oh My GOOOOOODDDNESSSS, It's finally Friday. WOOO HOOO! I could not be more grateful! I hope everyone has a fun weekend planned.

Change is coming soon the site announced about a week ago. So, my question today is: What are your likes and dislikes when it comes to this beloved website? Be honest ladies and share away!

My likes:
This site is a very helpful resource for planning because we get information from each other, it isn't filtered and then approved for submission. We aren't allowed to bash but we are allowed to share our experiences. If it wasn't for this site we prob would have over payed for many things and would not have everything that we wanted. Ha, and I love the little emoticons. I wish there were more! I like The Brides Review but there really needs to be more. Right after someone gets married the site should sen them an email request to write one and give them some kind of incentive, even if it's just another t-shirt; 'I'm a Mrs. LIW 2012 BRIDE!' Lastly, our GTG and meeting you lovely ladies bc not all of our friends are in the same place in their lives right now and we all just seem to get each other!

Dislikes:
Privacy issue... There should be a lengthy registration process to ween out the people who want to stalk, be nosy, and who don't belong. This site prob wouldn't work as well if it was as private as FB but something a little better. Oh, and uploading photos is HORRIBLE!!! Hopefully that'll change!

First off- if CS is going to do $hit like that & pull a negative post about a disgusting RH and a simple mishap with a bakery then APPARENTLY WE NEED TO START SAVING POST LIKE THAT AS PDF'S SO WE CAN SHARE IT WITH EACH OTHER AFTER IT GETS PULLED... SHAME ON YOU!

Likes: It is sooo helpful- I would have never thought of half of the things that come up when it comes to wedding planning without this site. I also love that I have you girls to chat with all day about wedding stuff! There's only so much wedding talk FH & my friends can take.

Dislikes: I totally agree with you Linda- I wish there were more privacy options--there are def some stalkers out there that need to mind their business!

Likes: Basically everything that was said already...this site is soo helpful and I don't know where I would be in the planning process without it! It is amazing for finding vendor reviews and honest opinions and it has been great getting to know you girls!!!

Dislikes: PRIVACY issues...! It's kinda creepy to know that people are lurking and you never know who is reading what you post...I don't like the idea of a vendor reading everything I post!

Likes: This site has been super helpful for planning from afar -- it can be a great source of information about vendors. And I get to chat with you lovely ladies!

Dislikes: privacy, censorship, junkmail, and over-aggressive vendors. Of those, it's the level of censorship, combined with the arbitrary and blatantly self-serving nature of things that get pulled and the fact that they don't openly acknowledge it that irks me most. Most sites that pull comments put up a 'this post was pulled for violating the terms of service' type comment in its place. LIW doesn't even give a straight explanation for why some vendors are ****'d.

Likes: How resourceful this website is, and how helpful everyone is!!

Dislikes: Privacy issues-who knows how people are creeping on me.

like - the fellow brides and all the helpful advice I get from them!

dislike - search and historical postings is difficult sometimes, especially when trying to find your own posts! I would also like some kind of flag that shows in which threads I have posted in and which have new responses (The WW boards do this). Uploading photos could defintely be easier.

The overall look of the website is pretty outdated too I think it could use a makeover!

Dislike the Big Brother aspect. I understand that vendors have to be regulated but I think that CS should explain why a particular vendor can not be named. Sometimes it seems like it is because they are not a prefered vendor but other times it is other.

First off, I totally missed this announcement you are talking about. Where did you see it?

Likes:
1) The vendor suggestions. I think every vendor I have booked with (besides the RH, which no one has heard of!) have come directly or indirectly from the boards.
2) Quick response times and girls that actually care! I was surprised at first how many posts some girls have, but I totally get it now. On many sites, girls post once a week, here we post once an hour!
3) How supportive everyone is. Though sometimes I want people to say, 'eww that's a terrible idea'. because I do have them sometimes!
4) The Brides Review. I love hearing about the experience as a whole, but I take it with a grain of salt because I know some negative reviews get pulled.
5) IT'S FREE!!!
Dislikes:
1) Posting pictures on the boards is a nightmare! Yes you can make an album, but it's more difficult for readers to flip back and forth when you are talking about something.
2)Privacy and stalking. Ultimately this site is about advertising the vendors, which I understand. However, just because a vendor pays to advertise here should not mean that they also get to FM me all the time, or even worse, stalk me on other sites like Facebook as a result. I was really surprised at the lengths some vendors would go. Creepy!
3) It's addictive! I think I will go through some sort of LIW withdrawal after the wedding.
4) I am a serious procrastinator and LIW completes aids this habit.

Don't think CS can help me with the last two

LIKES: Love the chatting, the friendships we've formed already in a short time.

DISLIKE-the privacy is really bad, they should have some privacy options and they should have an APP!!!!!! They should also have ability for us to post our wedding stuff we want to sell in an online shop like a wedding ebay.

LIKES: the information I have received from this site has been priceless and really helpful in the planning process! I've loved meeting and getting close with you girls has been fun! Love that there's a place to get advice, share ideas!

DISLIKE: again, as said prior the vendor stalking, slowness of the site at times and the privacy aspect.

Likes: Super helpful in every way when it comes to wedding planning

Dislikes: Its outdated for sure!!

Likes: Of course how helpful the site is. The bride's review section is great though I wish there was more. Love the icons and there should be some additions. The wedding countdown is also good. GTG's are awesome and so are the contests.

Dislikes: Vendor stalking. Needs an app. Sucks to load pictures. Wish the search feature was better. Hate when posts disappear.

Likes: Reading ideas and seeing pics of what other brides do. The vendor section gives me options of people to check out or to even just do some background research on other people. The brides reviews are fun to read if they use a particular vendor of interest, or have thier wedding at a place you wish you could check out (or afford!!!)

Dislikes: When post and say they put pics in thier album, its a pain to get back to the chat post that they wrote on...too many steps. Even though I used to stalk before I had a log in, I dont like that people who don't have log ins can read the forums. It shouldn't be so easily 'Google-able'

Also, its probably just me but am I the only one who finds the emoticons small and has difficulty seeing them?? Maybe I need my eyes checked!!!!! LOL

Oh yea and a phone app would be nice for when Im someplace and bored.

i agree, a shop would be good money for the site... Id rather pay a dollar fee to sell something than have harassing vendors, and vendors posing as brides to try and steal business

I love posting my ideas and getting honest feedback from ladies that are in the same position as I am.

I will def have withdraw after my wedding... my FH is a web designer..maybe ill have him make us a forum so we can all stay in touch after?

LIKE: #1 hands down I love you girls!! But of course that is not the reason I came here. I came here to get ideas & that is exactly what I have gotten. I like that brides have shared what they have done & others share new ideas they have found. Everyone is VERY helpful & willing to help you with your big day. I like that there is a search option to find things that don't come up right in front of your eyes. I like the g2gs & fun contests LIW has. Giving us all a chance to win something for our big day. TWOTY is also a GREAT thing that LIW does too!


DISLIKE: Just like everyone else, I don't like that anyone can search in google & our convo pops up. I'm not really a fan of the wedding website you can make on here. It is a little boring. Maybe they can update it a little more. AND I dislike when non vendors names get erased or posts get deleted. I understand why you do it, but if someone has had a problem with a LIW vendor they should be able to give us a heads up. It looks like LIW hides it by deleting posts. If they get a bad reputation they shouldnt be on here as a vendor!

likes: all of the great resources I've found from other brides, the words of encouragement from everyone and being able to talk about weddings all the time to people :)

dislikes: the annoying stalker vendors and the rude people who post nasty comments

Likes: This site is very helpful! Of course all you girls and your great advice and friendship I like how I can search any topic and read threads of brides that have similar issues that I have. I also love the brides reviews! And... I like how I can get a text message when I get an FM or someone posts on my thread.

Dislikes: Obviously the privacy issue. I can't edit a post from my iphone (there should be an app). Definitely needs a make over... and maybe some more emotions? Get rid of the ones we never use... what the heck is this one? hahaha

Like: The site is extremely helpful and even though I'm not getting married in LI, it's nice to chat with other brides and share price quotes, etc. You girls really helped me out with that limo quote and I'm extremely grateful. I also love our G2G's and am looking forward to the one on Sunday!!

Dislke: Wish LIW would do things to make the forum more private. I also can't stand how things disappear out of no where. In addition, if a vendor does a bad job, I think every bride has the right to review them, regardless if they are an LIW vendor. If anything, if I was LIW, I would want to know if a bride was unhappy with a preferred vendor b/c if I continued to see bad reviews, I'd think twice about recommending their services.

Likes: I love getting deals from this site with different vendors. Also I love our girls on our board where we can vent to and get ideas from. I love how past brides put things to sell on here so we current brides to be can buy their items. I have also saved so much money from using site with the vendors that I have gotten so far. I also like how our board especailly we can get together and meet new girls and that we are friends for probably a life time because of this website..LOL I know cheezy

Dislike: I agree with you Linda, is the privacy issues and how some girls from the 2011 board have been sneaking around on our board. Also the cattiness that can go on with this site. (Not our board though).
