Oh My GOOOOOODDDNESSSS, It's finally Friday. WOOO HOOO! I could not be more grateful! I hope everyone has a fun weekend planned.
Change is coming soon the site announced about a week ago. So, my question today is: What are your likes and dislikes when it comes to this beloved website? Be honest ladies and share away!
My likes: This site is a very helpful resource for planning because we get information from each other, it isn't filtered and then approved for submission. We aren't allowed to bash but we are allowed to share our experiences. If it wasn't for this site we prob would have over payed for many things and would not have everything that we wanted. Ha, and I love the little emoticons. I wish there were more! I like The Brides Review but there really needs to be more. Right after someone gets married the site should sen them an email request to write one and give them some kind of incentive, even if it's just another t-shirt; 'I'm a Mrs. LIW 2012 BRIDE!' Lastly, our GTG and meeting you lovely ladies bc not all of our friends are in the same place in their lives right now and we all just seem to get each other!
Dislikes: Privacy issue... There should be a lengthy registration process to ween out the people who want to stalk, be nosy, and who don't belong. This site prob wouldn't work as well if it was as private as FB but something a little better. Oh, and uploading photos is HORRIBLE!!! Hopefully that'll change!

Exactly! They have to pull it bc it's a 'bad review' for one of their preferred vendors who pay LIW to be on here & keep them looking good!

We can post bad experiences, but we have to be somewhat cautious with it. We can't just put a place on blast for everyone to see. One bride might have a horrible experience while another bride LOVES the vendor.
Having a vendor put on blast for a mistake or for just one bad experience can cost them A LOT of money because of the amount of people who view this site daily. I mean.. think about it.. if you have a business for x amount of years and many people have had wonderful experiences.. would you want 1 person coming on here and talking about their 1 experience? No. It's not like they can post their side of the story...

Yes, she could have been exaggerating but thats our job as human adults to take it with a grain of salt and make a decision about how true it is and how horrible of an experience that we perceive it to be. Or again, like someone else mentioned above- state the reason- don't just make it magically disappear. Thats completely unprofessional and this is a business.

True, about the amount of traffic and effect on business, but that's all the more reason a business should be inclined to take some action upon a complaint IMO. If I were making a complaint I would probably only do so publicly after the vendor failed to rectify the situation when given an opportunity to do so... I think that type of complaint is the type we'd all like to see (I don't know if that's the kind of thing that gets pulled or not)! Everyone makes errors and screws up sometimes; it's about the manner in which those errors are handled that separates the bad from the good!

OMG! WTH I went back to see the review again, and I saw that they pulled it! SOOOOOO unfair, what loyalty does this site have to these vendors?

I love the advice and support that I get from the laddies on this site. I hope to finally make it to one of the G2Gs so I can meet you all lol. It's a place for encouragment, ideas or someplace to just vent and get it all out. As someone said before, somtimes our friends and family are just not in the same place as we are or are just plain tired of hearing about wedding stuff lol. I also love the little emotocons
What I dislike is definitly the privacy issue people should be properly checked out before they can just come on here. They DEFINITLY need an app, I live on my phone and it's really annoying to post from there. The biggest dislike of all is that they should not be deleeting posts or blocking out vendors for their own purposes. We are suposed to be on this site sharing are insights and experiences and if a vendor gets a bad review and they don't like it, than they should clean up their act and make sure it doesn't happen again. It is up to us to make the determinination of wether or not we will use them, and if all of the bad reviews get erased how can he see if a behavior is a patteren??
