Busy night - we are buying my sister (MOH) shoes, she is trying on her BM dress, & I am off to Barrons to look at veils.

UPDATED:
Well, my sister got her shoes - great selection at Craft Shoes.

Then we went to pick up my cousin's BM dress who lives in Florida & look at my sister's (MOH) dress. Guess what? They actually threw her in for a fitting. She wasn't even scheduled for one but since she was in her dress with her shoes, they snuck her in! It was awesome - the dress was huge on her though! She is a size 1 - bitc*

So on to my fitting. My normal seamstress was out due to surgery so the other lady was there. My stress level started to rise. I did have a melt-down moment because my dress is an Eve of Milady & I had a hollow-to-hem measurement back in 2004 when i bought the dress.

So it was TOO LONG. I BUGGED OUT! I visited my dress twice since it came in & couldn't understand what was happening! P.S. the 'new' seamstress gave me the wrong slip. I had two bridal shop workers, the seamstress, the store manager, & the girl who originally sold me the dress in 2004 at the EOM trunk show, ALL in the dressing room with me.

It all worked out in the end. The staff was awesome! I lost some weight and my dress is too big on top. So all they did was concentrate on the top last night. They still have about 1/2 an inch to play with on the bottom but they don't want to touch it until they see how my alterations on top lift my dress up. It looks like I may have about 4 fittings. My next one is June 1 and by then, my original seamstress will be back.

So - the moral is: if you lose weight, you feel great but it may be a b-tch to alter your gown!

I never took any pics in the midst of all this drama and with all of the staff in my dressing room. It all worked out in the end but I did shed some tears with the slip mix up.

We went to Barrons after & I designed my veil. She is awesome! She helped me exactly with the vision that I had of my veil. I get to pick it up the day of my second fitting!

Sorry to hear about the stress at your dress fitting. Ugh! But I'm glad it all worked out by the end of the night!

I had a similar problem with my dress. I lost weight from when I first ordered my dress, and my boobs shrank. I planned on just having cups sewn in to the top, but I'm so much smaller now that I need a major push-up bra to fill the extra space. The seamstress is taking it in as much as she can, but can only do so much without ruining the line of the dress.
