UPDATED My FSIL is cancelling on me.... (kinda long)
OK, so what do you girls think about this?
I'm pretty upset. My FSIL has been planning on coming to my bachelorette party in Miami since February. My wedding, shower, etc are all in NY where our friends and family live, but I decided to have my Bach'ette down where FH and I live and told everyone if they could come, GREAT, and if not, no problem...
As it turns out, almost everyone decided to come and was really excited. They all got good airfare deals cuz we planned so far in advance, and we're staying at my sister's 3 bedroom apartment in Miami so there's no hotel costs involved.
Anyway, they've been planning this for so long. Her and another bridesmaid of mine planned on flying together, and bought their tickets together months ago because my other friend is really afraid to fly alone.
My bachelorette party is now in 2 weeks, and FSIL has been avoiding my sister (who is in charge of planning the whole thing) and my friend she's supposed to fly with. Every time they email or try to get in touch with her she ignores them or says she's busy. She's been like that for about a week.
As a side note, my mom even bought a sofa bed for my sister so we could all fit at her apartment!!!!
I don't get a phone call or anything, but yesterday she emailed me to tell me she has a field trip of some sort to go to for one of her college classes on the Saturday of my bachelorette party - plus a lot of other school work - and she's not sure if she can come.
It's pretty clear that she's going to back out, but she says it is just a 'heads up' and she's going to 'try her best' to make it.
I'm really upset, and so is my friend that she was supposed to fly with, and so is my sister.
I mean, it's been planned for almost a year and now it's in 2 weeks. My friend that was flying with her doesn't want to fly alone now. I am going to see if she can fly in with someone else but I'm not sure if it'll work b/c they are on different airlines.
the worst part to me is my FSIL's way of handling it, and her attitude kind of seems to be like it's no big deal.
I'm so upset. Do you think I'm overreacting?
ETA: OMG. I replied to FSIL's email and was honest with her that i was freaking out a little and upset, but that we'd work it out with the other girls, and she HERE IS HER RESPONSE:
LOL ill be there, no worries....no need for the guilt trip...have a great weekend...see u soon!! Later sis...
I'M SO MUCH MORE UPSET NOW. I CAN'T BELIEVE HER ATTITUDE TOWARDS THIS WHOLE THING.
