My cat who is 16 has been losing ALOT of weight in the past year, hardly keeps her food down (throws it up) and last night, the icing on the cake.... she urinated... but not in her litter box. I am soooo scared that she is dying and made an appointment to take her to the vet at 11:00 this morning. I cant stop crying because I am afraid that they are going to say there isnt anything they can do for her. But then I think to myself 'hey, she lived a long life' but its still not easy to do. I have had her since I was 15 years old

Oh, Im so happy to hear that!!!! I felt awful this morning with your first post. Im so glad to hear everything is ok. Sounds to me like diabetes: the weight loss and the urination. Luckily it isnt the worst thing and it can be easily managed with medication
thanks!!! well the urination... umm... i just found out that FH locked her in the bedroom which is why she peed! she couldnt get out to go in her litter box!
I'm so glad. I was so upset for you when I read this and I didn't know what to say, so I'm delighted that your kitty is going to be okay.

Oh I am so happy for you! That is great news! We were worried about 2 weeks ago about the same type of stuff with our cat but it luckly turned out to be either a virus (if cats can get that) or something she ate.. She is her normal self again.

YEAH! Meow meow meow! (cat talk for Thank Goodness)...it's all in the inflection...which is lost in typing! Glad to hear your girl is going to be ok. Give her a nice scratch behind the ear for me and my girl!

Re: UPDATED-NWR Sasha is fine!!!!!!
My childhood cat, who will be 17 in April, experienced the same symptoms as your kitty, and it turned out that she has an overactive thyroid, which is very manageable. My parents cut up some medicine and put it in her food every day, and since she started it, she's put on more weight and is acting a lot better. They have to bring her back to the vet every few months or so for blood tests, but other than that, its not a huge problem, so don't worry too much about it-- she's fine!!
