I am having second thoughts about the date of my wedding too. You should check to see if your other vendors are available on the 16th. You dont want to lose your amazing vendors by changing the date (or your deposits). Places might charge more for a Sat night so its also something else to think about. There are pros and cons to friday and sat night weddings. And dont let people complaining about the time of the ceremony get to you. People will ALWAYS find something to complain about. (I am getting crap because the ceremony is not starting until 730.ANd will not be over until 1 am. )

I love even numbers. And originally planned on getting married on Oct 16 2010 actually. However, the place we fell in love with was booked so we had to change the date.
I definitely understand your dilemma. I am having doubts about my date now also. The problem is that everyone I know seems to get married in Oct. And the 16th was the only saturday in Oct that wasnt someone else's anniversary. So now we are sharing the anniversary of FH's brother. I know only a few people will know but I am kind of upset to share my date.

ITA with gloria ... just think by the time the 2nd comes ... ullalready be married to the man u love .. as opposed to the 16 th ... its way after ur dream....

ITA - but, in the end it is your wedding and you have to do what makes you happy. But...don't forget that a Sat wedding will be more expensive then a Fri wedding. Also...you would have to make sure all of the vendors that you alreayd booked would be available on the new date as well.... Dont worry - I think we all (at least I do!) stress about weird stuff. Take a deep breath - it'll work out!

Ok I TOTALLY understand.

I am not superstitious, I don't believe in luck, etc. etc. etc. but I am OBSESSED with the number 3. Every significant date in my life and in FH's life is either divisible by 3 or has a 3 in it. If our wedding date does not have one of these items, I'm probably going to torture myself.

If you're wedding is going to go past 11:59PM, I'd say stick with the 1st because then technically, it will partially be on the 2nd.

If not, and you feel you really want the Saturday, then change it and go with it. But don't change it just because of people. NO matter what date/day/time you pick, someone will have an issue, because complaining is what people love to do.

UPDATE: So today's QOTD reminded of how long I have wanted the first weekend in October (you can check out my answer there). I know that my reasoning when I was younger was silly but it just goes to show how long I have had that weekend in mind, that to me is enough to keep it the way it is. I appreciate so much everyone's comments and opinions. I could tell as I'd read one that said to keep it for October 1st my gut feeling was happy, so I think it's meant to be this way. Thank you again for even bothering to read let alone to comment, your opinions all mean so much!

since you are a later int he day wedding, maybe something else IMPORTANT will happen at the stroke of midnight (hee; if you know what I mean).

I get you b/c my lucky number is my wedding date.
