Ok, I'm OBSESSED with Sam (the owner).

This is going to be a tad long but I have to share because I LOVE him!

Let me start by saying that my fiance had my engagement ring custom made by his friends father (jeweler in the city). We figured we would get our wedding bands from the same jeweler, but didn't really give it too much thought since we still had a ton of time for wedding bands...

Fast forward a couple of months and my 92 year old grandmother offered me her wedding band. I am very close to my grandmother, and was to my grandfather before he passed away. It meant so much to me when she offered me her ring that the thought of having something custom made went right out the window. I was of course going to use her ring!!

So one Saturday, my grandmother and I walked into a random jewelry store just to get an idea on how much it would be to have it sized down and to replace 2 diamonds (she knocked 2 out and had them replaced with CZ's). The jeweler took one look at the ring and said because it was so old, he wouldn't feel comfortable trying to size it down because the prongs are so worn down it would just be asking for trouble. He told me he'd make me a copy of her ring, and use her stones for $2,000. Ummm - the whole point is for me to use HER ring.. not a copy of her ring. This went on with 2 additional jewelers. Then my friend told me about Sam. She used Sam for her engagement ring and her wedding bands (both gorgeous). I figured it couldn't hurt to try one last time...

I explained the situation to Sam and after looking at the ring for about 10 minutes and not speaking, he gave it back and told me he could fix it. He said he'd size it down and use some of the gold to build up the prongs. He would replace the CZ's with diamonds and dip it for me... all for $750!! He also said he'd guarantee the ring. If anything happened to it, he'd either fix it or refund my money. He THEN told me that when you dip yellow gold in white gold and wear the ring all the time, that after about 6 months the white tends to rub off on the inside, but for as long as he's in business, he will re-dip for me for free. He just got it. He looked at me and said - 'this is your grandmothers ring. you want to use it for sentimental meaning. I'm not going to take your money and make you buy a different ring. You should use HER ring..'

I dropped the ring off to him yesterday (way ahead of time but I can't wait to see it!). He said it'll be done in about 2 weeks. I'll update you all then!!

Moral of the story - if you need an honest, genuine nice guy jeweler, Sam is your man. I would recommend anyone too him!

Crashing- We purchased our bands from Sam and he is amazing. He made my DH's band we saw a band there that we loved but it was yellow gold and we wanted white gold. He also replaced a diamond from my e-ring at no extra cost (DH did not even purchase the ring from him). He is great and I look forward to purchasing more jewelry from him in the future.

I love him already! I wonder if that's the guy who cleaned my engagement ring for me right before my engagement party and then waved me away when I tried to pay!

So I got a call 4 days after I gave Sam my ring that it was DONE! I know I have 8 months till the wedding, but i was DYING to see what it looked like. I picked it up yesterday and I am OBSESSED!!!

My grandmother was kissing and hugging Sam. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

He told me to come back before the wedding to have it and my engagement ring (which was not purchased through him) cleaned for free.

I plan on going back before then to get diamond studs for my flower girl. I can't get over how gorgeous it is! I don't know how I'm going to wait until the end of April to wear it!!!
