Re: ** Updated with possible itinerary**Royal Caribben vs Princess

Honestly I think you should think about the days at sea issue. We have taken 3 cruises already, with carnival liberty - and we were at sea every other day inbetween islands and I think that worked out GREAT and was the best cause we never got sick of being on the boat and at sea even though there is yes so much to do, but still being at sea 2 or 3 days in a row would really annoy me and I don't think i'd like it. actually, one cruise we went on was hit by a hurricane so our route and destination changed and we had to go backward and hit islands on the other side of the carribean which caused us to stay at sea 2 days in a row and that drove us crazy and by the 2nd day at sea we were bored and wanted to shoot ourselves. even though the boat has A LOT to do, after a while 2 days in a row after an entire day of walking around the ship, doing everything, eating and drinking, you do get sick of it. now if you are at sea every other day, inbetween hitting islands its great cause you get to relax, sit by the pool, drink, eat, do all the fun things on the ship and not get bored cause you had the day before to go out to the islands and do different things.. so this is something definately to look over and think about, especially since you have never gone on a cruise before! :)

but one thing is true.. you will love cruises and never want to do anything else but take a cruise anytime you vacation again, thats for sure! :) thats how we are now and never want to go anywhere else but cruises, hehe! :) they are sooo sooo much fun and i can go on and on about them.. good luck with planning your cruise, your gonna lovee it! :)

and i forgot to mention... the reason i like to take the cruise out of a different state and fly is because i like the whole excitment of being able to fly and not just taking a cruise out of NY, lol. i know this sounds silly and weird, but that would be weird to me and wouldnt feel so much like a vacation to me. id feel like im just taking a few days to go ride on a boat to not somwhere so far away or something and wouldnt feel like a vacation to me... i like to fly and make it a whole big vacation out of it and we like that also because we get to spend a few days either before or after the cruise on that island the cruise is leaving from... like for example, we havent booked our cruise with RC yet but the cruise we are looking to take and most likely taking is leaving from puerto rico, so after the cruise when we get back to puerto rico we are gonna stay in a resort there for a few days (like maybe 3 or 4) and just take those days to relax on the beach after the cruise! :)

i have been on that princess cruise that you posted about with those excursions. That is the crown princess, when i went in 2006 it was a brand new ship and i went out on one of its first few times out, i think its 3rd time out.

I LOVED IT!!!! food was amazing, ship was gorgeous, gotta love movies under the stars. I have pics if you want or more info if you need

plus you cant beat leaving out of NY. For us it took 15 mins to get to the port, so quick and easy.

I did that exact Princess cruise out of NY twice. We loved it both times!!! The days at sea are so much fun, honestly. There is SO much to do on board the ship besides laying by the pool. Also, the ease of not having to fly is simply amazing!!! Since we live in NYC, we just had to take a cab to and from the ship, it was awesome!!!!!!!!

when did you go on it?

i agree, the days at sea we had alot of fun. DH and i hung out at the casino alot, met other couples and hung out with them. Even checked out the club, another night we did movies under the stars which was nice. Plus theres tons of things to do, they have broadway type shows, so many types of classes such as mixology, dance classes that has a dance competition at the end and much much more. Trust me, you won't get bored at all

DH and i are not the type to lay out for long and just lounge, it would get boring if thats all you do. DH played every night in poker tournaments, and we spent most of our nights in the casino lol, we would be the last ones to leave everynight lol was worth it in the end bc dh won the big tournament the last night there.

all depends on what you do with your time, you can definitely make the most of it, dh and i had the best time every single night
