UPDATED...Grandma has cancer
I'm not the praying type and don't really believe that the more prayers I amass, the more likely a higher being is going to grant them. That being said, I just need some good vibes going out to my family.
With 24 days to my wedding, things are not getting better, but worse. FH is starting his last option for treatment tomorrow. He had a really bad day yesterday, worse than he's had in a while, and now we're putting all of our eggs in this last basket. If this stuff doesn't work, the only options left are experimental drugs, or taking the chance that he's going to simply have to suffer for the rest of his life and not be able to work like a regular person.
We have every reason to believe that this will work, but our luck has not been good this year.
My grandmother is now in the hospital. She's such a strong woman and I honestly can't remember her ever being in the hospital before now. She's been a little off kilter lately, but we just chalked it up to her getting a little older and slowing down a bit. They aren't really sure what's wrong with her yet, but they found suspicious-looking spots (or tumors or something...I get a different answer from each family member I talk to) in her stomach or esophagus (again, depends on who you talk to), and we're all really scared. It would kill me if she couldn't come up for the wedding, and it would devastate us all if she was seriously ill.
So, if anyone can send out good thoughts to my family, I'd really appreciate it. If you pray, don't pray for me...just for them. I don't care about myself having to deal with this - I'm more concerned with them having to deal with this.
Thanks.
