Update!!!Those of you who have had root canals

I'm back and it wasn't bad at all. Similar to getting a filling. We'll see after the novicane wears off. Thanks for your input

Im supposed to get a root canal today and I am soooooooo scared. Some say it doesnt hurt others say it does. What was your experience?

Angela - To be honest, it didnt hurt while they were doing it or later on that day. The next day is when I was in pain. It wasnt excruciating pain but it did hurt. Just be sure to take Advil or Tylenol every few hours and you should be fine. Good luck.
Oh, and just so you know the tooth ache I had prior to the root canal hurt A LOT more then the root canal.

In my experience, the only pain you will feel is the needle to numb your mouth. (And thats only a slight pinch) Believe me, after that, you dont feel anything but pressure. Just make sure you keep your eyes shut for the procedure because I dont think you want to see all the tools your dentist will stick in your mouth. I used to be deathly afraid of the dentist, but I have gotten so much work done to my mouth , Im so used to it

Dont worry- Imagine if novacaine was never invented> That would be bad.

Hoestly, I was in major pain until I had the prescription filled. Then it knocked me out. Remember Ice, ice, ice so it does not bruise and keeps swelling down

I was PETRIFIED

but the only thing that hurt was that needle ugh and i am araid of needles. But after that i was so numb all i felt was pressure

when the needle wore off and i was home it was really sore. I ate applesauce and some baby food i did wanna chew and i had slurpees and milkshakes

but it took a little while to chew my mouth was achy but i took advil
