Updo hairstyle help

Everytime I go on here and see everyone going for a hair trial their hair looks amazing and they love it. I have not been so lucky with my hair. Its long and thick so its harder for my to find a style that looks good. I just recently cut 4 inches off and I am going for another trial to see what my hair will look like up now. The problem is I am still having a hard time finding a hair style I love that is an updo.....does anyone have any suggestions for me?
