I currently have the Japanese hair straightening and would like to a few months before the wedding so my hair is easy to manage on my HM. I was wondering if anybody had japanese straightened hair & got an up-do? Does it stay? If so does anybody have any pics or any hair salon recommendations? thanks!!!!

Re: Updo's with Japanese Hair straightening??
i usually get this too (in fact im going on sunday to get it re-done). i asked my hairstylist if she could still manage an updo if i got my hair straightened now and she said no problem. if i wanted a down-do, then no. but since i wanted up, she said she would have no problems. then again, my hair is really thick and there is a lot of it. but generally, you shouldnt have a problem

Re: Updo's with Japanese Hair straightening??
I have a question about the japanese hair straightening....
Is it bad for your hair cause my hair is already pretty thin so I would hate to do more damage to it. I've always thought about getting this done because my hair has a wave to it and tends to get very frizzy, which means, if im wearing it down, I MUST straighten it with my hair iron. Is this something I should look into doing??
(sorry to hi-jack your thread with another question)

I don't think it is the best for your hair. A friend of mine got it done and some of her hair got burned....but I would ask the salon....usually treating your hair, whether you are getting it straightened or dyed, isn't great for it.

I plan on doing that after the wedding, because my stylist told me that it won't be full enough...however, if you are putting it all up, I don't see a problem!

I've been getting JHS for about five years now...I love it and my hair's never been healthier.
There are a billion posts on LIF about JHS.

Re: Updo's with Japanese Hair straightening??
Hey, No problem! I would definitely do it, i was skeptical at first because I also have thin hair and my hair wasn't unmanageable so I figured I didn't NEED to get it done. But I am so happy that i did, it's so easy. When it rains, or it's humid my hair stays straight-no frizz! I jump out of the shower and go, I never had such convenience before and not to mention it looks great! I asked the guy if it damages the hair, like years down the road, and he said no he uses natural products I'm drawing a blank on the name but I would definitely give him a call, it's S&K beauty in queens 718-476-8192, he charged me $180 it varies based on thickness and length. I've told a few people to call and I've heard there's a slight language barrier, esp. over the phone if you ask a lot of questions, but in person I'm able to talk with him and ask questions. If you have any other questions feel free to ask, good luck!
