UpLighting with Poll Question!!!

How many of you girls are not doing uplighting?
How many of you are?

We don't have this included with our band and if we want it, its an extra $1000 which is not a lot of money considering the money we are shelling out already, however, i don't think we can afford it.

Anyone else not doing uplighting and can make me feel better?

and will the room look stupid without it?

well I picked one but I want to edit that we could totally get married without it (it's not going to make or break the day LOL).

The reason we really wanted the uplighting has to do with our venue. It can get really dark by the dining area after the sun goes down. So to compensate for that, we are doing uplighting around that area to brighten it up a bit. We got a really good deal through our DJ so we said why not.

I'm doing and I have a great vendor for it.

I didn't take the poll b/c our situation isnt listed and I don't want to mess it up.

It is NOT included in our package - We ARE having it and it WASN'T a must have!

We got a pretty good discount from our DJ (about $300 off) and my future in-laws are paying for half of it.

It was a late addition - really only like a month or 2 ago so in the beginning I was dead set againist but then kinda fell in love with it.

Do I think any room will look funny w/out it? Absolutely NOT - you don't need it, it's just added!! Will you look in your room all night and think 'man, I wish we had it!!' - that's up to you to decide.

The way i think about it - if it's not there, no one will know it was even and option and they won't miss it.

and yes, to go with Jessie said. Our room gets super dark so I wanted it to be bright and lively with the music going - kinda like a club! We got a pretty standard lighting package so this will just add to it.

ITA. FH and I didn't book it when we booked our DJ and said we'll factor it in later if we had the money left. At this point we are going to add it since I do love how it looks in pictures but I wouldn't say it's a necessity at ALL!

i feel like its so common now-a-days and that if i don't have it, people will notice its missing

actually, the past few weddings i've been to, they didn't have it so i don't think it's that common. and i really don't think ppl will think it's missing - it'll most likely be you that'll notice these extras

I don't think people would notice it missing. Do you love the way your room looks without it? If so, and you aren't sure you can spend the money, then I wouldn't go nuts over it. I've been to a lot of weddings in the last two years, and I honestly could not tell you who had uplighting and who did not!

seriously - it's not common at all. Don't fell you have to do it. If it's something you really want because of the way it looks and you have room in your budget for it, than go for it. But it's def. not necessary
