actually, the past few weddings i've been to, they didn't have it so i don't think it's that common. and i really don't think ppl will think it's missing - it'll most likely be you that'll notice these extras

seriously - it's not common at all. Don't fell you have to do it. If it's something you really want because of the way it looks and you have room in your budget for it, than go for it. But it's def. not necessary

I've only been to 3 weddings and only one of them had uplighting. And don't EVER feel you need to strain your budget because of guests and what they MIGHT like. I find myself doing that a lot since I want everyone to enjoy themselves and love the wedding but it's not worth going bankrupt for. Also, FH usually snaps me out of it

If we do end up doing it, no doubt it will be with Glenn from Prestigious Events (I think that's the name of the company?) I talked to him a few times over the phone and he's the nicest guy and everyone on here talks about the good job he does. I want it so bad, but we gotta see!

yea he's totally a nice guy to work with. i agree that it's $ just for lighting but i look back and forth of pics of my RH with and w/o lighting and it's such a big diff. it depends on your RH too. if it's beautiful w/o it, then no need to get it. i just felt like mine's on the darker side

I am really going back and forth with this one. I have never been to a wedding that HAS had it, and I never really noticed that it didn't. Although my hall does get dark when the sun goes down, the reason I chose it is because I love that room, so I don't know if I want to change it. I'm totally not a clubby person, so it really doesn't make that big of a deal to me, I just can't figure out if I even want it or not.

FH is set against it because he loves the room the way it is and we are having a ton of candles, so he thinks we should just save the $

I totally agree - its not something everyone has. I've been to a sh!t ton of weddings and I can really only remember like 1 or 2 that had it! Like i said - if you dont have it, no one will miss it!

You guys have to do what you are comfortable with!!!

Save the $$ on the lighting so you have some extra $$ incase you dont get stuff from your shower since I know that was a concern of yours.

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE loveeeee uplighting... I would LOVE to get the Blue one!!!
Wow that would make me SO happy...
BUT $1000 is $1000...
and WITH or WITHOUT the lights, My wedding Will continue...
So it is NOT a priority for me...
I DO want it... but I dont have the budget now...
If for some reason I get $1000 in teh future then I may get it....

It is NOT So Common chica....
If I will go to ur wedding I will NOT be on the look out for ur uplighting... I will be there to be with U guys....

I dont think its uncommon either--- no one will even notice I bet (unless they are actually LOOKING for it)-- i had NO IDEA what it was until a few months ago!!!

We are doing it only because we have a small wedding so we were able to spend on a few extras. If I didn't have the money no one would have noticed it anyway.

In all honesty I have never been to a wedding that did have uplighting

We're not doing it - we already love the lighting in our room as is, and are using candles all around the centerpieces, so that's the look we went for. The uplighting in my opinion, atleast in our room, would ruin the feel for it.
