I want to tone up more!! With the longer commute, my being is too old to go to the gym's child room and too young to stay home, my gym time has beed severely reduced.
I have dumbells at home and a step for step aerobics to use as a bench.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do at home
Thanks

Re: Upper Body Workouts at Home
Sure - you can do TONS of things. With your dumbbells: (1) Bicep curls. Stand back flat against a wall, elbow to waist. Curl arm upward, keeping back against wall and keeping elbow into waist. Do 3 sets of 10-12 for each arm. (2) Triceps. Leaning over chair so back is parallel to floor, grab weight and pull arm behind so length from shoulder to elbow is parallel to floor and length from elbow to wrist is perpendicular to floor. (arm is bent at right angle.) Slowly straighten arm backwards, trying to keep shoulder to elbow from moving. Use other hand on chair for balance. Again, 3 sets of 10-12. Do on each arm. (3) Shoulders. Sit on chair, arm bent and to your side with elbow to wrist parallel to floor. Holding weight, take arm (without bending) and raise it so the weight is parallel to your shoulder. Repeat. 3 sets of 10-12 for each arm. (4) Pushups!!! Do as many as you can!!! (5) Back: Get an exercise band. Wrap it around something heavy and secure (I used the railing on my back desk). Sitting on floor, slide your bum backwards from where you wrapped band so that your legs are straight out in front of you. Now take band and pull it to your chest, keeping your arms outward, elbows up. Do not use your back or legs, use only arms, chest, and back to pull.
