Upset

A friend of mine that lives upstate is coming down for my bachlorette party tomorrow. She just informed me that sunday she is going to leave my house early to meet a friend of hers in the city. I havent seen this girl in almost a year and the girl she is meeting lives near her(upstate). Apparently this girl has been b!tching at her because she hasnt seen her in a while and wants to spend the day in the city with her.
Im really upset because she can see this girl anytime but this is not the case with me because we live 4 hours away from each other. I dont think its fair that this girl is cutting into my weekend with her when she can meet her after work for dinner or something anytime! Am I being unreasonable?

Re: Upset

OMG I know EXACTLY what you're going through!!!!

My best friend and MOH just told me today that she's only planning on spending ONE night (friday) at the hotel for our wedding weekend and wasn't going to stay the night after the wedding (mind you, our wedding is over at 5:30 p.m.) and wasn't going to be there the next morning for brunch. I was like WHAT?!?!?!?!??!?!

She said some of her friends were coming down from Boston to see DMB at Jones Beach on the 22nd (the next wednesday) so she was just going to stay with them to defray costs.

I was so hurt and could NOT understand how my wedding is that unimportant to her... and she's my MOH!!!! I've paid for EVERYTHING except her dress and I just relented and offered to pay for her hotel room if it makes the difference between her staying one night or two. I mean, really???? I'm not even asking her to contribute to my ladies luncheon next weekend.

I don't know what's going on but there's nothing like making the bride feel like crap for thinking her MOH should care about her wedding...

ITA.. but people make their own choices .... like one of my BMs has a silly reason for not coming to my party tomorrow too but Im just like whatever... I cant get annoyed because I will stress myself out and then I will breakout and thats a no no lol

I'd be upset too, but try not to let it ruin your time. Is she a people pleaser? I am guilty of this and often try to please everyone and make everyone happy and doesn't like when people are annoyed at them.... that sounds like what is happening here. The other girl bitched at her so she feels pressured into going to the city with her.

Not saying it's right, but I've had similar situations blow up in my face myself and it's hard to say no to people sometimes. You could tell her how you feel if you like, but you will have a good time!

I agree - it would annoy me a little but after having gone through it all, I'm glad that I just let things slide. The less you stress, the better everything will be!
