We are looking to go to Europe for our HM, but we just noticed that almost all of the hotels in Europe ( Spain for example) have TWIN beds Has anybody been to Europe/Spain??Did you come across the same issues??? Any recommendations on the hotels that might have double beds????? Is it a common thing for European hotels to have TWIN beds???
I told my FH that there is no way I am going to either of those places!! We got into argument b/c of it
Any opinions/recommendations are appreciated

Don't be upset. I'm sure you can find rooms that don't have twin beds. I was in Spain in college, so I didn't stay in any good hotels, so I don't know. BUT--I LOVED Spain--it's so gorgeous and I had a wonderful time. So, you should def. go. Have you spoken to a travel agent at all?

Oh You must be so frustrated. I was really annoyed when Booking our cruise when I found out that all rooms on cruise lines are twin beds and that they just put them together to make a queen bed. See if a travel agent can help you. I'm from Spain and spent my summers there as a child and I can honestly say that you would be missing out on exploring an amazing and generous country that loves Americans, one of the few left after 9/11. I hope you are still able to find a place

I've never been to Spain-- but I've been to Italy and Greece and you are able to get full/queen beds. If you are having a hard time finding it on your own-- contact a travel agent and ask for some help-- even if you end up booking on your own.

I just looked on solmelia.com and checked out spain-- they have rooms with queen beds or twin beds...maybe you can call the hotel (once you pick one you like) and verify you will have a queen size bed.

My FH and I are going to Madrid and the Canary Islands and we requested double beds thru our travel agent. Its not guaranteed, but its not stopping us from going.
A lot of times, you can milk the 'We are on our Honeymoon' routine and you can get what you want.

Are you working with a travel agent? If not, then I would start working with one. They can help you out as much as possible. Also, make sure you have a bathroom in your hotel room. A lot of European hotels do not have bathrooms in the bedrooms and you have to share. Now that wouldnt be very fun!! Good luck!

we've been to italy, france, and spain... and have always stayed in full/queen/king sized beds!

They will let us push the beds together, but honestly..... what the hell for the money we are paying I'd prefer to have a DECENT bed, especially for HM.
Thank you all for the advice on a travel agent. No, we are not using one, FH is a freak on doing everything himself , but I will try to get an agent anyway

where in spain are you going?
in madrid we stayed with family, but in barcelona we stayed in a hotel... and definitely not a twin bed!

in barcelona we stayed in the 'sagrada familia hotel'
in paris we stayed in 'Le Meridien Montparnasse'
in venice we stayed in 'San Clemente Palace Hotel & Resort' (IT WAS AMAZING!) and in florence, we stayed in 'Helvetia And Bristol'

also, how are you booking your trip? i just looked on expedia and saw that a lot of hotels definitely have bigger beds!
they have at least double beds.... (double is the same as full size)

i didn't go to spain but when i went to ireland the beds were twins beds. we were ona toru so some hotels had king beds and some had 2 twins. what we did was push the 2 twins bed together.
