Upset stomach
With my wedding less than a week away(on Sat.) I've had a constant knot in my stomach and the feeling like I always want to throw up. Is there anything I can take for this? I went to the pharmacy and they only had stuff for viruses. I can't even eat. Did anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it?

Re: Upset stomach
Hi Karina, I've been meaning to write to you. Congratulations on the house. It's just nerves, I'm hoping the day off I'll be over it. I just don't want to go all week like this!

Re: Upset stomach
It is definately nerves, I had it 2 days before the wedding and didn't not eat ANYTHING but bread. I thought anything I put in my mouth was going to come up. This feeling only lasted 48 hours, the minute the alarm clock went off the day of the Wedding I didn't have the feeling at all - just excitement. I think I got the stomach knot because of all the anticipation of the coming days! Just try and relax, I know easier said than done, right?

Re: Upset stomach
It's nerves and its normal! I would felt that way too, as the wedding got closer, every time I thought about walking down the aisle! Then, when the day finally arrived, I felt like throwing up ALL morning, but I never did. It's really just a feeling and people RARELY if ever actually throw up from nerves. I also felt that way in the limo, and a few times during the pictures, then again right before the ceremony (that's when the nerves hit hardest!), and after the first dance, ALL my nervousness disappeared and I felt fantastic!!!Snack on plain Saltine crackers. Have a warm cup of tea with lemon (no milk), decaf if possible. And take it EASY! You're not being put on trial! You're making a promise of love and having a big party! So really, what's to be nervous about?
Try to remind yourself that feeling nervous and having an upset stomach is normal for what you're dealing with right now. And expect to feel weird on your wedding day, too! Try not to make too much of an issue over it, or focus on it too much. It's a normal reaction and it will go away eventually.
Try to think of the real reason you are getting married....because of the love you and your FH share together. Try to think of all the new and wonderful things that are waiting for you after you're married, and the happy life you'll be starting.
So what if it rains? So what if the champagne is flat? So what if the flowers wilt? So what if Aunt Tilly gets drunk and dances on the table? So what if Cousin Sue hates your dress. So what if your flower girl refuses to walk down the aisle?
On my day, it poured like crazy, the limo window was broken and water came flooding on my lap getting my dress wet, we had to make last minute plans for the pictures because I never had a backup plan in case of bad weather, then my sister was 45 minutes late for the pictures, we forgot to bring our printed napkins to the reception hall, and someone's kid talked through our entire ceremony! But you know what? I still had an awesome time and all those little petty mishaps just don't make one bit of difference.
In the Big Picture of things, as perfect as we all want our wedding to be, it's only ONE DAY in our lives, one very FAST day! Think of the honeymoon and how much fun and relaxation you'll have. Take the pressure off yourself to look perfect, act perfect, and have the pefect day. Just take it easy and go with the flow. Everything is going to be fine!!
Breathe!!
