URGENT Photography Question - HELP!

Hi ladies! I have a REALLY important question for all of you out there that have either gotten your wedding albums or are very familiar with the types of pictures that are normally in them.

Did you find that the photog captured a lot of the small moments? For example:

-An outside overview of your hall
-The Maitre'd
-Plates of Food
-Cocktail hour setup
-Tables just randomly having a good time
-Silliness on the dancefloor
-All of the vendors
-Inside of limo, etc.

Am I the only one who didn't get these pictures? I'm not sure if most people want them - but I love the small details and I wish I had some shots of them. They could have even be digital for me just to use on the computer. I feel like the photog didn't want to 'waste' film on these items.

Do you gals all have these types of pics? Do you wish you did - or am I just weird?
I know the album should be formal but how about additional shots of all the little things that fade from memory over time!?

I just feel really disappointed and would love your feedback!!! Thank you!

From what I have read no matter how reputable your photographer it is very important the specify your 'must takes'. A photographer can be good what they think is a 'photo op' may not be what you think.

Can you see if friends or family got any of these shots and have them printed up? Some photographers will put other people's pictures in you album if you want them too.

Sorry you didn't get all that you wanted. I am sure you are frustrated.

I am making my list little by little everytime I see shots I want because like you I want to have pictures of the details.

We didn't have pics like that - well we had pictures of DH & I and other guests on the dance floor. From when we interviewed with photographers, the table shots seemed to always be by request.

We have pictures of our ball room but no pictures of food. I think unless you specify you want these types of pictures, the photographer is going to concentrate on the bride & groom and shots that will most likely end up in the album.

I don't think any photographer would assume you wanted some of these pic. I know there are a few on that list that i would be pissed to have

I don't want any pictures of food. I am sorry i am not spending all this money to capture the food. Cocktail hour set up...nope don't want that nor the vendors or the Maitre'd...
Food and strangers are not on my list of must have pics.

I'm confused...it says your wedding isn't until 2005.

Are you an 'anonymous' bride trying to protect your photographer?

I specified a lot of the detail shots I really wanted and got those. There are a couple (even with over 1500 photos) that I never asked for and didnt get and later realized it would have been nice to have but it didnt much matter.

Specifically:

-An outside overview of your hall (Yes, but this was more of an action shot of us pulling up from across the street)
-The Maitre'd (no, nor would I want a photo of him)
-Plates of Food (no)
-Cocktail hour setup (not the setup but a big photo of what the room looked like with people in it)
-Tables just randomly having a good time (i think most people were having a good time on the dance floor but there are a few photos tables with people laughing and toasting)
-Silliness on the dancefloor (yes, definitely but this isnt a detail shot IMO...its the action of the party so I have lots of these)
-All of the vendors (i have some photos of my vendors in my photos but more in the background. I dont need/want photos of my vendors)
-Inside of limo, etc. (yes with people in it, one of fav shots but I asked for this)
