Re: Using a Exersaucer....
You are supposed to wait until the baby is able to hold his/her head up on their own. If you put them in it too soon, when their neck muscles are not strong enough, there are increased risks for injury. 15 weeks sounds a bit young, but is Mia holding her head up already? Every child is different, after all. We didn't put Paul into his until he was 4-5 months old.

Re: Using a Exersaucer....
We put Joseph in at 4 months when he could hold his head up on his own. There was a little room behind him so we rolled up a towel to support his back a little. He loves his exersaucer!

Re: Using a Exersaucer....
Lyndsey was able to hold her head up very well as early as 3 months old...however, we waited until she was over 5 months old to put her in the exersaucer. (I listened to my chiropractor hubby...who said it's best to wait. Besides the possibility of injury to their tiny backs, their legs are also needed to support themselves in the exersaucer). Hope that helps! Lyndsey is just starting to enjoy her exersaucer....I thought she'd ove it, but no such luck.

Re: Using a Exersaucer....
Emma is 14 weeks today and we started putting her in about 2 weeks ago. She does have excellent head control though. However we do wrap a blanket around her body in the seat for more support. She only lasts about 10 minutes in it then she gets tired but in the past 2 weeks she has gone from just sitting in it to now hitting the toys with her hands and spinning the seat around!! It is so amazing to watch the development.

Re: Using a Exersaucer....
Ooh, one thing to add, my pediatrician said to always make sure it is at the right height, meaning once they can touch the bottom, make sure that only their toes touch. they should not be able to stand in it or be flat footed until they are walking (which by then you won't use it as an exersaucer)

We put Ryan in at like 4 1/2 months - at first it freaked him out a little - too many toys! But now he LOOOOVES it!! (see chat picture!!)

Re: Using a Exersaucer....
We put Sean in it once or twice already (he's 16 weeks) and last night at Lisa Rose's house!
It'll take some getting used to, but I'm sure he'll love it as will Mia!!
