using videographer

using videographer

just wonder how many people are using videographers -- and if so, who are you hiring?

FH doesn't think its worth the $$ (and has suggested that we buy a camcorder and have a friend do it), but I think this will be disappointing in the long run.

I know its really popular to get the video, but did anyone feel like it was a waste/not all that its cracked up to be?

FH and I struggeld wth the same question, so I started asking around, finding out what my already married firends thought. Despite the expense, most who did get a video were happy they did, and those who didn't wish they had. But in the end, if you want one, maybe you just have to decide what level of video you want. Could be that a friend doing it is all you need...not the fancy editing and baby photo montages. Good Luck!

I've decided to have the day taped, but I don't want an edited final version - I'll receive the raw footage. I just can't see spending that much money (knowing that the moajority of the expense is in the editing room), plus I don't want them to determine what I find entertaining. I want to see it un-cut - the laughs, the spills, the slips, etc. Should save me about $1K.

ETA - a professional will do the taping...

I sent you FM- we used someone recommended by friends and he was significantly lower b/c he works for himself.

ETA- @ the time DH and I couldn't agree and almost didn't get one- so it worked out in my favor

we knew we wanted it...just didnt know how much we could spend on it... after visiting 1 (the only one) company..despite the cost, we had to have it.... see other brides from LIW ceremony, etc... brought a tear and a sense of importance of the movie

We knew we want a video. We have watched it so many times already. It is totally worth it. It is a total remembrance of your day and all the events and highlights of it. We used Bellarino . Phil & Kate are such wonderful people.

FI and I definitely thought not worth the expense but all my brothers and their wives said it is worth it for 1 reason. If you have kids they love to watch the tape, My neices and nephews watch their parents videos alot! So, we are having a family friend do it for cheap. Nothing fancy just taping no editing.

At first I didn't want video either, but I don't regret at all going with www.lcastudios.com I have seen my video over 30 times already, and can't wait for the time when I can show it to our children in the future.

We are using Rick & Co. for both Photography & Videography. I think you might regret not having a video down the road-my friends who got married in July said the video was great because they missed so much being the Bride & Groom.
