USUK2004!

USUK2004!

The LIRR story of all time. This is true and happened Friday eve. I'm still thinking about it.

Heading home-the train is filling up. Girl behind me is asked to get up a let someone sit in the middle seat. She proclaims that her friend is getting on at Jamaica and is saving her a seat. The guy says, you can't save a seat on the train. This isn't kindergarten. I snicker..thought it was perfect. He says I paid for a ticket from Penn, I get to sit wherever there is an open seat. He sits. She says, 'well when my friend gets on we'll have to squeeze her in'. He scoffs at that. He decides to move and give his seat to another passenger since she was trying to have a conversation with the person directly next to him. That was really nice I thought and a perfect way to get away from a potentially nasty situation.

At Jamaica- the girl's friend finds her and she says to the woman next to her that she will have to get up and let her friend squeeze in.

At Hicksville the train empties out and she goes to grab a two seater for her and her friend. She can't find her friend and someone who just got on wants to sit there. She says no I'm saving the seat for my friend. The guy says you can't save a seat on the train and calls her a moron!

I got so caught up in this BS that I missed my stop!!! No biggie-it was one stop, but this was so entertaining and stupid all at the same time.

She wanted to squeeze 4 people in the 3 seater on one of the new trains. Not that it would matter on any train, but that just topped it off.

This was a first in my career riding the LIRR! that girl should be glad it wasn't me sitting next to her.

I know I'm not Farah but I have to say, I hope that parts of those conversations end up on Overheardinnewyork.com.

I've never heard of that. That's a real website?

Glad you enjoyed reading it. I still can't believe it.

OMG!!!!!!

That is seriously brilliant!!!

She wanted to SAVE a SEAT?????

I'm surprised the entire train didn't get up and start throwing things at her! You are so disciplined to not have told her off!

The whole train was flabbergasted. If I was sitting next to her-she would have been running crying from the train.

Don't mess with a commuter!

Wow! I 've seen seat savers, but not that bad. Usually it is some guy who get on the train as soon as the track is announced & is saving a seat for his wife.

I sat behifn soem oen ocne who did tha t& he keto tirnign peopelaway, and then right befor ehte trian left, soem finally stood up to him & said, she's not here, now, so she probably isn't coming, so I'm going to sit her & I'll get up if she does.

Re: USUK2004!

I swear I am not making this up.....once on my way home, mid-day from school, the toilet on the LIRR exploded on me!

The lights were flickering and I could barely see. I never pee on the train, but it was an emergency, I barely made the train with no time to go before hand. I went, barely able to see what I was doing and then flushed. Nothing happened, so I flushed a second time. The entire contents of the toilet - my recent 'deposit' and all that blue toilet water crap shot up in the air about 6-7 feet and got all over one side of me. I screamed and ran out of the bathroom. As I am trying to clean myself off outside, the conductor comes up and asks for my ticket. I wanted to slap him!

I think this was the single most disgusting experience of my life to date.

I'm so sorry, I'm not laughing at you - that is completely disgusting, but the story itself is hysterical! I can't imagine being on that train and seeing something like that
