UTI

I believe I have my first Urinary Tract Infection and I'm sitting at work absolutely MISERABLE!!!!

Thanks. Yea, I called my doctor and I'm going to go for a urinalysis after work.

I'm so uncomfortable! BLAH

oooh those suck!

They say to drink cranberry juice, but it didn't do anything for me. Get to a doctor soon and feel better!!!

Just gonna say that. Lots of cranberry juice or water if you don't have cranberry juice around. Gotta 'flush it out' hope you feel better...

Buy that AZO over the counter if you don't get to the doctor right away (even though you should!) it will make your pee turn orange, but it won't hurt as much!

ETA: If you do buy that, and if you wear contacts, take your contacts out because it can stain your contacts! (It can turn your tears orange too!)

I second AZO!!! It makes your pee Crayola orange, but the stuff really works. Feel better

The AZO tablets work WONDERS to help the pain. You really need to drink like a gallon of cranberry juice to feel any effects. Water is probably just as good.

its great that they have over the counter stuff now for UTI...i had it once when i was about 17 and it was a nightmare. Yeah i was barely drinking any water at the time and basically drank JUST soda lol and alot of it, the doctor said that definitely didn't help it.

Go to the pharmacy and by Uristat - it will make your pee orange and it will coat your urinary tract. It won't fix the infection, but it will make it more bareable until you get antibiotics.

Yeah that's the same thing as the AZO, just a different brand, I forget which one is cheaper, but it's the same active ingredient, so either one. Just remember the contact lense thing if you wear them!

I know, it's so great that they have it, so many people come to the pharmacy asking for something that can help a UTI until they can get to the doctor! And that's actually the same thing that you get prescription, only a lower dose of it. So you probably will get a prescription for it later.

I second AZO definitely, works so quickly and it won't hurt anymore. But definitely still go to the doctor.

...I did not know that about the tears....that's pretty sick lol!

i am someone who suffers from UTI's pretty frequently.
It is the worst feeling in the world, and i feel really bad for you.

There are some quick fixes, cranberry pills, juice and also vitamin C pills can really help.

I always carry my medicine its called macrobid. Its always in my pocket book and when i switch bags it goes in the new bag just incase. I actually felt one coming on this morning so i took a macrobid, i get them from my gyno they just write me a script whenever im running low.

But if u can getur hands on some cranberry juice or pills and drink tons of water til ur apt.

Those are the worst. Definitely see your dr to get antibiotics and make sure you drink plenty of water and cranberry juice. But, if you want something over the counter that really really makes you feel better within minutes-get 'uristat'. It makes you pee orange but it takes away all of the pain and the uncomfortable feeling.

Yes that defin helps the discomfort. If you can get ur hands on that, it will pretty much numb your bladder til you see the doctor

oh so sorry to hear that you have a uti- they totally s u c k... definately get the over the counter stuff- but to help you prevent in the future- you can take cranberry extract vitamins- i used to get them all the time and now hardly ever... also wearing heels all the time causes uti's also- they tip your bladder forward which affects how you empty your bladder. anyhow, feel better
