we are going to mexico in march. staying at the valentin imperial maya - it's Riviera Maya too. check out the reviews on trip advisor; I was torn between this and Secrets Capri, and we got the most for our money and better reviews at the Valentin.

Have you thought about going on a cruise? They're not too expensive and you get to travel to more than one destination! We're going on one Jan 11th to the Mexican Riviera!

yes - we have thought about a cruise - DH really really wants to go on one - and so do i - but i am nervous about getting sea sick b/c i get really weird on boats and always have to take dramamine(sp?).....i know you can get that patch behind your ear but im nervous to do a cruise so soon - i rather have a few vacations under my belt first just in case - our HM was our first real vacation together, we never went away b/c of our doggie but my inlaws took care of her and she did alright while we were gone - so now that we know we can leave her we want to plan a few trips before we buy a house and are broke

Aw yea I know what you mean! Well get a few more under your belt and then go for it! I can get sea sick as well but the boat is so big that you really can't even feel yourself moving most of the time!

Thank you so much. I really should do my review already! The only thing I can really say about this place was that it was amazing. OUr room, the food, the beach, the pools, the weather, the service were all amazing. I honestly don't have one complaint. I am an extremely picky eater and we have been to other all inclusives where I starved because I refused to eat the food. Here they had about 7 or 8 different restaurants to choose from and one was better than the next! You don't need any reservations for the restaurants which was also nice. They have more pools than I could count and they were so nice. The best part was definitely the service just bringing drink after drink and food. Definitely my favorite vacation so far.
It's funny because after we left we said the same thing that you are saying about Aruba that we won't be able to find a place better than this. My brother who got married in September also went there and they loved it AND we recommended it to a friend for an anniversary trip who also went there and loved it!
Let me know if you have any more questions!

I thought the same thing but I got so sick on the cruise I went on. I wanted to see if I would get sick so I didnt take the dramamine and I was so sorry I didnt take it. I had to take those pills the whole entire cruise in order to feel ok. I will never go on a cruise again because of it

i was just looking at the website and i couldnt believe all those restaurants!! the price on line for a week in Feb, Mar and Apr was about $3,500 so figure $500 a day BUT for the room, the beach, the pool and food and drinks its not bad - especially the way DH and I can put away the food and drinks in Aruba we spent a small fortune on eating, drinking, reserving huts at the beach, eating, drinking hahahahaha....i cant wait to show DH, this place looks really nice and i like how many choices there are too eat - i cant believe those are all included!

If you go with this resort I totally recommend the Excellence Club. Although I booked the HM package through the Excellence Club, I'm not sure how different it would be if you're not a honeymooner. Hannahshim did a great review on the Excellence in Riviera Maya. Try to search for it. I know that during the summer the resort offers archery and rifle shooting. DH was really looking forward to that but we went during the end of the season and it wasn't available to us.

Yea it really is a great deal when you think of everything that is included. The restaurants are so good its like eating at 5 star restaurants. Plus all of the alcohol and the drinks are so good. We upgraded to the excellence club which gives you a private pool and a different beach which has a lot less seaweed than the regular beach. Also, we had a hot tub on our balcony and one inside the room! It would be a second honeymoon for you!
