Re: vacation help
We were in Cancun the second week in December for DH's birthday. We stayed at Fiesta Americana Grande Coral Beach. It was amazing. And really not that expensive. The food was delicious and the hotel is right down the block from many restaurants and clubs. They have plenty of activities for you to do too.
Sorry for crashing... I thought I was on the newlywed board

I totally agree with Excellence Playa Murejes. We just got back from our honeymoon there and it was amazing. We stayed in the rooftop suite and the views are incredible. We swam with the dolphins which was so cool. They had other excursion trips too. I would recommend it to anyone.

im not worried about the money - i was looking for something that is a short flight b/c we are only staying 1 week tops - so i dont want to waste 2 days flying if we are only going for a week or less....i heard hawaii is nice but if im going to be on a plane that long i rather go to the south pacific or europe - i would like to do those places as our 'last hoorah' trips before kids ....

ABSOLUTELY!!! one day, hopefully in the next year or two we can make it down there, its our dream and saving for it can't be that bad - we saved a lot more for the wedding in only 15 months so saving for a trip like that shouldn't be bad at all and would probably only take a few months to save for....we just have to do it right timing wise for our dog since its a long trip i want to wait until we live in florida and have a house - that way my mom and sis can stay with her and let her outside - if we did a long vacation up here she'd be stuck in our apartment the whole time b/c we don't have a backyard....thats why i want to go close - short trips - 1 week in aruba was a long time for the doggie and for us to be apart

yep! I know what you mean. We left our dog with our parents..where else could I put her..I would never put her in a kennel..I didn't trust them..and I thought she would be miserable! I know tahiti is expensive and it seems as though its not worth it..but it was totally worth it! every penny! its seriously the trip of a lifetime! and your right over time its not hard to save at all!!!!!!!!! But for now..Jamaica is real nice if you are looking for something affordable! I may go there for our anniversary! its beautiful there!

the dog has been holding us back for a long time - the honeymoon was the first real trip we went on b/c we never wanted to leave her - we dont have many people we trust up here - and my in-laws have animals in their house already and so does my SIL so they can't take her in their home - our new apartment is downstairs from my in-laws, they have a 2 family and we rent their apartment - so now they can go downstairs and hang out with her, feed her, play with her, and clean up after her - she goes to the bathroom on wee wee pads b/c she is hard to walk, she pulls and when she sees other dogs she gets nuts and can be hard to control so we dont trust anyone but ourselves walking her - so its really hard - she had a hard time when we were gone for the HM, the first few days she was mopey and my MIL had to hand feed her can you tell she is spoiled?
but going away was REALLY nice and we want to do it more often - we know the dog is in good hands and she survived while we were on the honeymoon so we figure as long as we aren't gone for more than 1 week at a time we can do some more things - but to go away for longer i can't do - its not fair to the doggie and i would miss her way too much - we both couldnt wait to get home from aruba to see her
but one day - i would love to go to fiji, moorea, bora bora, tahiti - any of those islands - its so gorgeous and its a once in a lifetime thing - its expensive but the wedding was even more ridiculously expensive and that only lasted a few hours

we went there in feb and it was fantastic! the weather was perfect (one partly cloudy day), very warm. the resort wasn't too crowded so it was great. the hotel is adults only, not couples only, so it's possible some spring breakers could actually go there.
the couples massage on the beach was perfect! well at least for me. DH got very sick (not because of mexico, he was starting to get sick the night before our HM and the dr at the hotel took very good care of him!) so he didn't get to enjoy it. we're going to mexico next week and plan and doing another couples massage so he can enjoy it. the spa is so nice, and the hydrotherapy session you have before your massage is sooo good.

Le Blanc in Cancun was amazing the service was great its all inclusive and a few tours are included like the ruins. It was a very small resort but all the rooms are suites and there's butler service.
