FH and I want to take a family vacation this summer, but since he just started a new job he can only do a long weekend type of vacation.
Can anyone suggest a good weekend getaway for us to take with our 6 and 5 year old daughters?
We already did Sesame Place, so we'd like to try something different if possible..
thanks in advance

don't know what your budget is but check out www.woodloch.com. it's a bit expensive, but it's an all-inclusive resort with tons of family activities. my family goes every year for labor day and my nephews and nieces have a blast as do the adults.
hershey park is also a great idea.

The Poconos has a ton of outdoor activities in the summer that could be fun.
Also, the Jersey shore or Eastern Long Island like Montauk could be fun.
If you want an urban adventure you could go to D.C. for the weekend and visit the museums, etc.

Hershey park is great because it's SUPER clean, and the area is great.
money-saving tip: look for hotels in Harrisburg - we've stayed at several holiday inns, and a ramada - they were all really nice, and cheaper because they were 15 minutes away from the park, not right on top of it.
It's pretty close too- only a 4 hr drive, and IMO, so so soooo much better than Sesame place.

hershey is okay but you can get sick of it after awhile. We have done it so many years in a row. Woodloch I hear is great we were going to go last year. there is aplace a nice resort in PA that is super nice and clean I loved it we went for five days though it is near the thomas museum and stuff I think it is near Straussberg I really wish I knew the name it was really nice. Just staying on the premises and visiting certain things. I plan on going to Cooperstonw for a weekend getaway since I have 2 boys
