I am thinking of sending my parents away for a weekend, but not too sure where to send them. I just looked up Cove Haven (Poconos) but its way too expensive. Does anyone have recommendations for a 'getaway weekend' for my parents? TIA everyone!

two years ago, inlaws sent us to newport rhode island an we stayed at the vanderbilt mansion. wonderful weekend and about 4 hours away and it was so much fun!

how about montauk. thats a great weekend getaway, and its not expensive at all. Dh just said thats a great place to go.

montauk manor is great! they live condo's too (like apartments that are two stories with a living room and kitchen on the first floor and a huge bedroom with bathroom on the second floor beautifully decorated). but the better restaurants are in the hamptons which can be a good 45 minutes away. but that doesn't mean there aren't good places to eat in montauk.

Thanks for advice ladies! My parents work out east 6 months of the year, so I really dont want to do Montauk. I really wish I can send them back to Cove Haven. If I can swing it, I may look for nice hotels in the Poconos area. They love it there! Or I may settle for clothes, books, etc. They are not expecting much cuz our house is being worked on but I just wanted to do something 'different'. TY again.
