Vacation SUggestions

Looking for suggestions from you all...
Tom and I would like to take a small extended weekend trip this summer, but aren't sure where to go. I was thinking Mystic Connecticut, or Newport, Rhode Island.....possibly Montauk.
ANy ideas for us?
Didn't want to spend a whole lot of money also.....
if you have hotel suggestions that would be great as well
Thank you!!!

What about Lake George? It is so fun up there in the summer. There is so much to do!! Its only five hours away! They have museums up there, clubs, great restaurants, boat rentals, dinner cruises, booze cruises, parasailing, camping, flea markets and tons more to do there. I wish we could go this summer!!

I don't think it is that $$ when you consider that it includes all you can eat breakfast & dinner. Saturday night is Steak & Lobster tails and includes the shows at night & activities during the day.

Montauk is nice, especially if you like the beach. There's a small-ish town there for shopping and dining.
What about Block Island?
Mystic is nice (aquarium, Old Mystic seaport and shopping).

We went to Newport RI and loved it! We stayed at the Ivy Lodge which was great - they have a delicious breakfast everyday, and snacks (fresh baked cookies!!!) all day long. They also have specials if you're booking last minute.

Thanks everyone!!!
We've gone to Mystic a couple of times and loved it, so we might go there.....
Lake George is too far for Tom to drive (he hates long drives )
I would love to do Rhode Island......i've only been there once and it was for a wedding, so i wasn't there for very long....
The Poconos is another good option...although that seems a little pricey......

any other suggestions????

Cape Cod? This is where we're staying for our mini-moon. They've got a whole bunch of great looking rooms and packages.

Vermont in the summer is gorgeous. Especially Mount Snow area like Dover. We just went up there and it is so romantic. like 4 hours out of the city. There are festivals, Manchester outlets, great restaurants, lovely b and b inns, a huge lake that we waterskiied on and inner tubed on. We rented a boat and had lunch on the boat as well. It was so romantic. You could even swim in the lake, which we did. There is antiquing and if you like hiking, you could walk down the mountain. Lastly, there is a Water Park at Bromley mountain a few miles away. Fun mini vacation!

Re: Vacation SUggestions

There are tons of other places that we checked out while looking to book our trip. I'm sure you could find something within your price range.

Or you can come stay with us when we go.
