Aw, shucks. We're leaving Friday morning. I guess you'll just have to hitch a ride with someone else going in August. Bummer.

DEFINITELY Cape Cod. I just went there to visit my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. Would you like me to ask her about affordable places?
I would not suggest Boston unless you like a lot of construction. It's undergoing a lot right now and is not the most pleasant of places to vacation. Maybe it's just because I spent too much time there, though I'm still bitter! HAHA

Well, I do LOVE construction.....as does the ever-patient Tom when he's been driving for a few hours.....but......maybe we'll try something different......

I would love you forever if you could get some Cape Cod places......I've never been there, but I would love to go. About how far away is it?

It's actually not bad at all. I would DEFINITELY suggest taking the LIE east then driving to Orient Point to take the Ferry. This leaves you with only a few exits to drive through in that hell hole Connecticutt (disclaimer: while Conn. is a beautiful state and many people here are from there or live there now, and enjoy it, my experiences on I-95 have helped to dub it God's Doody Stain on the map), so then take 95 all the way into RI, then bare right at exit 19 onto I-195 East, take to I-495 South, this becomes 25, which leads to the Borne Bridge and Voila, you are on Cape Cod in less than four hours! Now, add another two hours if you are going to the lower cape, but I personally prefer the upper cape since the beaches are less rocky. Lower cape reminds me of LI.

ETA that you should love me forever ANYWAY

I go to Montauk with my best friend every summer. It is so nice and relaxing. The beach is awesome, and there are a lot of romantic things to do. Everytime I go, I wish that I was there with Tom.
