Hoover - can't remember the exact model, but it has a hepa filter, dual chambers (to eleminate suction loss) and a pet hair attachment, a must since FH's cat loves my micro-suede sofa.

Absolutely! It also depends what kind of floors you have...Dyson was proved to be not so great on floors...Eureka definitely beat Dyson in that category...I have an Oreck...LOVE IT!

we have the dyson animal and ti works great- we don't have any pets but it is good at getting all my hair - i loose lots
plus all the attachments are easy to use

I have very little carpet - all hardwood floors.
AT this point - investing in SWIFER sounds good.

Something light with a good floor brush is what you need! Im not trying to be biased but Oreck is the best...and very $$.

I had a hoover windtunnel and I Hated it, now I have a Dyson Animal and I Love it. There is nooooo comparison.
