I had registered for a hoover windtunnel, but when I was at bbb yesterday, I happened to pass the vacuums - so I looked around and saw the windtunnel, and OH MY GOSH is it heavy! Wayyyy too heavy for me to cart around.
So I saw a few others, and one I liked was a dirt devil reaction (upright) and also a dirt devil canister for like $159! All the canisters I saw before this were much more expensive. The windtunnel comes in a canister too, for $249 I think.
Anyone have any of these vacuums? I am definitely switching the one I registered for, and I'd like to do it today, before it gets bought.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Vacuum recommendations????
We use an Oreck at home and it is seriously the lightest thing ever! And it works amazing on our dog hair! I didn't actually register for a vacuum b/c I wasn't sure what I wanted, but my FMIL bought us a Dyson!!! I haven't taken it out of the box yet so I'm not sure how heavy it is LOL... I know Orecks and Dysons are super expensive though.

Re: Vacuum recommendations????
My grandmother has an Oreck & its amazing- FH has a hoover that we got at Walmart- and it was like $100 and super light- I'll ask him the name of it- but its bagless and picks up everything.

Re: Vacuum recommendations????
we had the windtunnel... it was way too heavy so we switched but my dog has diesel hair, so it gets clogged and loses suction so I'm hoping for the dyson animal.

Thanks girls. I can't register for an oreck unfortunately - my mom and sister both have one and they do love them. And I was going to register for a dyson but I just think it's too much to ask.
I have been looking for a vacuum for about 6 weeks now, it's hard!
PS Kim thanks for bumping!

Re: Vacuum recommendations????
I registered for the Bissell Healthy Home at BBB (although I think they have it everywhere). My friend has it and LOVES it. It's around $250 without coupons, etc. The vacuum I really want (electrolux aerus - not the same company as the electrolux oxygen) is about 4 times that much so I thought it would be totally ridiculous to register for.

my sister just bought this and loves it. FYI - I priced it out and it's $250 at BBB and target but was $200 at circuit city

I've seen this one and the commercials. Is it heavy, do you know?

Re: Vacuum recommendations????
I know it's not as heavy as a Dyson, but I'm not sure how it is. I do know that it has a really long hose - you can do all of the stairs from the bottom (or top) and it has one of those motorized upholstery cleaners. It's like a beater brush that you can use on your sofas, etc. My friend has a 6500 square foot house, 2 cats and a kid and raves about it. She had bought a Kenmore cannister right before and had to take it back to be fixed twice before she finally gave up.
