Valentina Bridal Salon in Bklyn? NERVOUS

I just ordered my dress from there. Have not yet ordered my BM dresses.

I was talking to a friend last night so told me that when her brother got married the BM's all got their dresses from Valentina. 3 of the 5 girls had issues with the alterations.

Her statements definitely make me feel like I should go someplace else for my BM dresses. I am scared now because this is where I am getting my dress from....alterations are free....but at what 'real' cost?

Has anyone had alterations done there? Any good/bad experiences?? Please share.

I ordered our BM dresses from there and I believe Janie (SIBride06) is as well.

When I was there Wednesday ordering my dress there was a BM yelling at the seamstress about how tight her dress was. That made me nervous, but the salesgirl Daniela whispered that the girl insisted on ordering the dress too small and its hard to let a dress out, much easier to take one in. Made sense so I didnt give it another thought until last night.

Have your girls dresses come in yet and been altered or did you just order them?

Any one else with experience at Valentina?

If she was yelling about something else then I would have raised an eyebrow. But, since she was yelling about the dress being too tight, it means that she definitely wanted them NOT to order the dress to size or a size larger.

We just ordered the dress so far, and they should be in by November. I know that's a while for you to wait, but it's your personal decision.

My honest opinion is this: if you trust them to do the alterations on your bridal gown, you should trust them for the alterations of your BM dresses.

I'm going to repost this on the knot.com for you and get some more feedback for us.

i bought my dress at Lestans and went to Valentina's for the BM gowns. None of my girls had any problems there with alterations. In fact, mygirls were always late and cancelling appts and Valentinas was very patient with them.

Thanks...so far Daniela has been an absolute sweetheart! She's actually the reason I decided to order with Valentina..based on her personality and comfort (not to mention how i loved the dress) I'm just worried about the seamstress' work. But thank you for the offer.....I'll keep it in mind if something arises.

just to throw my 2 cents in

I think you can find someone who will tell you they are great or they had a problem

same with my salon, I have been treated great- some girls have bad things to say

trust your GUT, there are 2 sides to every story

if you feel comfortable enought to order your dress- then go a head a order the BM dresses

They sell their own and other designers as well. I know they definitely sell Jim Hjelm - the entire line is at their store...

They sell many designers in addition to their own. I ordered a Maggie Sottero.
