valet

valet

ok so I just saw valet mentioned in another thread and I've asked this before but, do you add valet if it's not offered?

I had the worst dream a while back that people drove their cars into the water at Land's End.

FH wants it and I don't wanna pay for it and most of my friends etc hate valet.

I sort of want to decide what I'm asking them to throw in when I sign that contract.

this is my problem too (expect FH is on the fence too) we like it cause I feel it makes the affair more formal but at the same time I know so many people who hate valet and would prefer not to. Questions also run through my head like- what if it rains or if there are a few older people who cant walk well.

that's the only reason i'm thinking valet but in Land's End's case, they could really drop them off at the door and find a spot. the parking lot is right there. I keep saying no to FH and honestly I don't even know how much it would be anyway.

Going back and forth on this too - the parking lot is like connected to the darn place so im like WHY do we need valet. But its a nice gesture and al that cr@p. So i dunno - if we have the extra $$ i guess we will spring for it but im more on the no side of it.

but we'll see

we personally are not doing valet because the parking lot isn't that big nor far from the entrance.

Honestly I hate valet, and always prefer to park my own car. Valet is included, but if it wasn't , I don't think I would have paid for it. I know it makes the affair seem more formal, but i could totally live without it, if i had to choose.

Re: valet

I would get the valet thrown in just for the weather reason. Sometimes I prefer to park my own car yes, but if it's raining you better believe I am valeting!! If that weren't an issue I'd say you don't need them.

You know, I have no idea if my RH includes this or not. I guess that's another thing to add to the list of questions!!

It couldnt hurt to see if they would throw it in...if they do, then take it...if not, then no worries!!

Valet is include with CB (why others don't is beyond me) but I've been to plenty of weddings where we had to park our own cars. I'm also cheap and if I had to pay extra I'd say oh well.

My sister's friend just got married at Land's End last month, and there was no valet, and it was fine for everyone. My sister is getting married in a few weeks at Milleridge though, and added the valet....I think her biggest deciding factor was that if you choose one of the 2 ways to walk to the Cottage from the parking lot, you walk past the area that their dumpsters are in...and on 7/3, it might be unpleasant.

As far as elderly people go, figure that they're being driven by other guests, who can drop them off and then go park the car.

Girly, u def don't need it at lands end! Its kinda silly for them to drive past the spots and then pull up to valet. L.e. Won't include it, ull have to get ur own. If they did ill be shocked cuz they told me no valet which was fine cuz I didn't think wed need it. Lemme kno how it goes....

Land's End's parking lot doesn't seem like it would need it... Besides do you really want a bunch of teenagers inside your guest's cars? I think that if you're going to have something thrown in when you sign the contract it should be an extra station if anything

Re: valet

Where we booked, valet comes with our contract but if it didn't I probably wouldnt have it. The parking lot is only a few feet away from the door

You do know he asked them if they could do a fireworks barge? We're getting married at like noon! She looked at him like he was on crack! Lol

I am getting married at Land's End and am not having a valet. I just feel like it's not worth the money, the parking lot is right there, having a valet won't really save anyone that much walking, it's not far as it is.

Save your money girl! There will be other things you want down the road that you can spend the money on.

Re: valet

It's included in my RH plus they park the cars alongside the long driveway (no lot at the mansion). FH likes valet, I would have wanted it regardless.

Not sure what I would be willing to pay for it though.
